Lots of talk around town that the Fan Store is one of David Baker's hidden agendas that has yet to come out of the darkness; but not to worry; It's a brighter day in the Boro! It is now coming to light that there is NO record of sales generated by The Fan Store, during the 2009 year of David Baker's reign of hidden agendas, moving money here and there (or perhaps stashing the cash in brown bags?? to be carried away??)

Your post just shows your opinion; but your opinion, based on rumors on this blog, does not change the FACTS about the REAL cost of our schools sports programs (which are currently being reviewed by the budget/finance committee during public school board meetings). The issue being discussed is not "the ladies that run the fan store." The issue is whether or not "running the fan store" produced REVENUE that contributed to the high COST of sports which are paid for by parents and taxpaying homeowners in this school district. Fact is, our "legal" school district treasurer's records shows no dollar amount of sales generated by the fan store during the school year 2009. Question is, if the Fan Store exists only to support itself, generatating NO money contribution to our sports program, should our school district not change the "status quo" way of doing The Fan Store business, so that it does generate revenue to our sports programs??

?? original post was on the fan store not SPORTS the STORE is not and never was part of the school budgetting it was just like the concession stands at school events - the boosters own and run the process Just like the BAND boosters help with BANDS cost. the trailer for band equipment was received as a "gift" from the booster. If you want to question the rev vs. non-rev of FAN store you have to look at the Booster's clubs ledger sheet which if you knew the facts have their own by-laws and are Non-rev by their own charters and if you did look you would not said anything as it makes NO REV by Charter. NOT MOO just FACT

Sometimes a link is just too good not to share. Pay attention to the part where the OEA donated 58,000 dollars of our money to the Wisconsin Anti-Walker efforts. I say our money because where did that 58,000 come from? You and me, via property taxes, via more and more levies, that in turn pay teacher salaries, that in turn are forced to pay union dues, that are in turn given away for political, not repeat not education reasons to an other state to help oust a sitting govnenor.
Perhaps the likes of Babb, Carlise, Schrof, Villamagna, Ellis, Colston, Christian, Et al should pay close attention how students, children were used as pawns for political reasons...not to help the better the children's education
Much like the NFSS...what was that mantra? oh yea....for the childrens future...common sense voters in Wisconsin saw through the BS that it had nothing to do with the children but all to do with teachers unions keeping a seat at the public feeding trough. And they spent our money, again, in another losing effort.

Petrey said he would earn $130,000 per year at Springboro, which is about a $30,000 raise compared to his salary and benefits at Lakota.
That also is a higher salary than Lolli’s, who made $105,000 in the position; the contract is for five years as opposed to three.
Petrey added that he will not receive retirement pickup, tax-deferred annuities, a car allowance or other incentives sometimes offered to superintendents.
“What the public sees is exactly what I am being compensated,” he said.

but petrey, dish out the 14% strs they are paying $18,200 and the medicare of $1,885, and do they pay your share of medicare? what about life insurance? Dues paid for memberships in professional organizations...tell the whole compensation dish

there will be NO NEW SCHOOL LEVIES passing in this city anytime soon...and NO THANKS to liberal fools; BUT, BIG THANKS to the financial and administrative experitse of our BOE conservative majority doing what's right for our school children and community. There is plenty of money to provide a quality education for our children's future and we now have in place a new superintendent who agrees with the new philosophy of the new board's Children First Budgeting. The minutes of the recent board meeting states our treasurer's report of $12.7M SURPLUS at the end of the May 2012 school year.

It's agreed that NO LEVY will be passing in our city of Springboro anytime soon; but we do have layers of Warren County government agencies that are "surveying" community members in efforts to "prove" to our Warren County commissioners that "new levies are WANTED on the ballot to grow bigger government. And we all know what that means! Soon we will be hit with a flood of "pro-levy" propaganda trying to "shame and blame" us into increasing our property taxes again; even though our Warren County property taxes for the DD agency increased this year even without a levy.

STAY ALERT to all babbling of "the many increased NEEDS and LONG waiting lists" for more services from our Warren County government agencies (made up of 1200 public service employees all babbling for increased wages and benefits)! Wonder how MUCH money we the people paid in our Warren County tax dollars for that "community survey" ran recently to a select "group" to get the pro-levy input desired by the DD Warren County govrnment agency.
Prepare YOURSELF to be "thick skinned" when the "shaming and blaming of struggling taxed to the max homeowners" BEGIN from the county government employees whose babbling of "we need a levy" will start running through Warren County.

NEVER FORGET Ronald Reagan's wise words on the WANTS of the government's agenda of EXCESSIVE SPENDING... not only of our federal government, but true of local, county, and state:

"The size of the federal budget is not an appropriate barometer of social conscience or charitable concern."

Enough is Enough! Stay Alert to VOTE NO on all government requests for NEW MONEY!

Right on Boroman! The Fan Store, has absolutely nothing to do with the schools. Nothing. This is a private enterprise that happens to sell Springboro spirit wear. This is just another way the majority on the BOE and their followers want to control EVERYTHING. Just worry about what you should - the education of our children. Not the revenue and expenses of the Fan Store. But they will say - but we need transparency because taxpayers in our district buy products from the Fan Store and we need to protect them! Baloney.

311086638 is the tax I'D for the boosters. No tax filings since 2004. Susanne Edwards is listed as president.

2004 tax filing has two sources of income listed:
Casino night and
Fan store.

And they have lost their nonprofit staus from the IRS since they have not been filing their tax form 990. No filings in over seven years.

And this IS taxpayer money! If we have to pay for additional levies because the boosters are collecting and not distributing funds, or the coaches are collecting pay to play money and putting it in their own accounts and not depositing it with the treasurer, then our tax dollars are being spent to make up for the difference.

Coaches who collect money for camps, liftathons, fundraisers and other fees and do not deposit it with the school treasurer are stealing. Plain and simple. Stealing.
