Maybe I just like to be warmer than most, I dont know... but Im sitting in front of my brand new EdenPure heater fully clothed with a blanket wrapped around me and Im still shivering... We live in an older small house that has an oil furnace... which needs replacing and doesnt work. We thought we would save money by not replacing it and buying an edenpure heater. We also have a window unit airconditioner that has heat on it too... thats what we had been using until the temperature started getting colder. Our house is only 1000sq feet total and Edenpure claims that it will heat up to a 1000sq foot room... bull****!
I put the eden pure in the living room- 300sq ft-
and shut the door off... it does NOT heat the room evenly or at all for that matter!
Ive had a cheap space heater that put off more heat than this. Im returning this one and going to spend about 1/8 of what I paid for this on a space heater til we can get our oil furnace fixed....only wish I hadnt wasted my time!

I have owned and use an Eden Pure for three years. It works as advertised for me.
Yes I agree that 5000btu is 5000btu but the air heated by the Eden Pure does not have the moisture sucked out of it, and the heat is from the floor to the ceiling. Very comfortable. Try one. They have a warranty.
There is a also a big difference that the wiring does not heat up as it always does with a regular electric heater. A tremendous fire hazard.
I use my Eden Pure as a desk.:-).Try that with your Walmarter.
If anyone uses an electric heater, do not sleep with it on.
Good luck with the electric heater expert advice career.:-)

A desk is cheaper.
A desk doesn't have wheels.
A desk has room for a chair and feet under it.

An Eden Pure might make a good end table, but a heater or desk,..? I doubt the later and know the first is risker. I'll never waste another dime on one.

My advise is never buy something you can't see/feel working in the store. Buy locally. Buy proven products. And beware of products that promise too much and aren't available at display for testing.

With all the money they spend on full page news ads, they could have Eden Pure heated outlet shops in every town the ads run in. I think the reason they don't is because they don't want you to see the heaters in action.

Replace the word "Amish" with "Ronco" and,... you get the picture. Remember, Ronco didn't have local shops either, the reason, most of their products were gimmicks.

Shame on the Amish for trading their good name as wood craftmen to this unproven technology.

You're secretly ENVIOUS of folks who are tonight sitting around all cozy & warm with their Eden Pures because you no doubt CAN'T AFFORD ONE!

If it's 3 years or older &/or it's been used quite a bit, I'll bet the quartz element inside is worn out.
Get the correct model # from your Edenpure storage box & then google "quartz element edenpure". There are plenty of folks online that sell these elements now but you HAVE TO know the correct model # to get the correct element.

Let's try a physics question, if other space heaters suck the moisture out of the air what do they do with the moisture? Do they have a drip pan they put it in?

As for a line cord heating or not heating up one of two things is happening. Either the cord is undersized or the heater is drawing more current (as in higher wattage).

Purchases may be returned for a refund within 30 days of the original purchase date with the exception of parts. mmmmmmm to me this mean you don't actly have 30 days to test out the hearter.
the 30 days begins on the day you placed your order, and the delivery could take up to a least a weak.
All parts sales are final.
Please note that all returned orders will be subject to a _________15% Restocking Fee. No exceptions.
So much for a free 30 day trial period. Going to cost your 15% stocking fee/
If you have purchased an Out-Of-Warranty Service Plan you must call us at 1-888-499-8656 for your 30 day, 60 day and 1 year warranty if needed.

I am a Heating contractor and I can tell you that 1500 watts IS 1500 watts no matter where it comes from. This is a standard unit of measure that has no variables. If you like the EdenPure heater at a cost of $378.00 you would LOVE a ConAir hair blow dryer for 19.99 at Walmart. Same heat, less cost, enough said!

You obviously haven't had an Eden Pure for very long, hoss!
And it certainly isn't fair for you to "lump" the reputable and proven copper-coil Eden Pure technology into the same abusive diatribe of ONE overgrown paragraph..........combining.. ........ with the oft-advertised Amish Heat Surge Heaters, which any imbisol can tell is obviously a total scam & a rip-off sceme!
DOH!~~~~ "FREE" Heaters!!!~~~~DOH!
The red flag should have gone up right then & there, skippy!!!
I'll bet you never even TRIED,even SEEN or FELT THE HEAT come out of an Eden Pure , big hoss!
You're no doubt just generalizing about ANYTHING else you see advertised, because you're too C-H-E-A-P to go anywhere but "chinky-chinky Wal-Mart" to get your p.o.s. junk that'll last 1 1/2 years, then fall apart!!
We've had 2 Eden Pures ( one 750 watts, one 1500 watts) for going on three full winters now, and they're everything we expected them to be.... and more.
Even with a somewhat more-efficient and newer Bryant heat pump system, using the 2 Eden Pures during (extreme) cold days & nights has helped to cut the electric bill dramatically, allowing us to often turn the emergency electric blower heat off altogether!
I only wish we had the newer Eden Pure models...with the remote-control temperature controls!
Oh, well!

I also have a oil filled heaters and i agree the EP heaters are over rated, i would take one oil filled heater over two or three EP heaters the cost per heaters to run are the same per hour but the Ep heaters will run more without shutting off than oil filled when it reached set temp.

Just received the 1500 Edenpure. The size rather scared me, as my home is 1500 sq. feet, and when I ordered the heater, winter had just started to set, but I recently became very happy with 2 oil filled heaters placed strategically in the house. I wanted to at least perhaps experiment, if the Edenpure indeed was more economical ya da ya da ya da. I'm scared now to be stuck with a behemoth of a heater, or get some wicked electric bill, any thoughts on my comments? The oil filled heaters are very economical, but do take about 15 minutes to heat up.

Whether its 750 or 1,500 watts it uses that wattage and is billed as such. Space heaters do what they say, heat space, not an entire house. Meaning if you put either Eden or Amish in each room you would have an enormous electric bill. We use the Amish in the living room where the thermostat is and it keeps the heating system from coming on continously even though it is a programmable thermostat. The guy at the beginning is correct. It is just an over inflated, fashionably designed high cost hoax. Sorry to pop some of your bubbles but you pay for Kilowatts per hour no matter how its delivered. In the 80's they said the infared quartz heater were the big money savers and now 99% of them are in land fills. The EdenPURE infomercial showed bare metal ducting but failed to show the insulation inside them. Thats why main sections did not have that much color difference from the other surfaces and yes a joint will leak, but done correctly with duct tape you would not have that! Hey everyone, here's a novel concept!
INSULATE your attic well, install newer windows & doors and/or replace worn out weatherstriping around the ones you have now SO THAT YOU WON'T NEED TO BUY supplemental space heaters like Eden Pure!

Juan, please take it easy on Mr. Harvey. Pauls's now on the other side of the grass.
