It was 13 years according to Court records the last time girls were charged from these establishments. 1 murder is directly connected to here. As well as several assaults and credit card theft cases. There have been several reports of drug dealing made to the newport police. Why has it taken so long for anything to happen here?

Its not easy to close down someone doing a legal business, even if most find the business objectionable. They have created new zoning ordinances that forbids these types of from opening in the same area but those can only be applied to new businesses, not existing ones.
Most the others were closed down by attrition. The last I believe was the Mouse Trap and it was bought to make way for the new city building.

Arrests made at Newport strip clubs
By Jennifer Baker and Brenna R. Kelly [email protected] and [email protected]
November 25, 2009 21:21 PM
NEWPORT - Newport police raided two strip clubs late Tuesday and arrested 13 employees.
The Brass Bull and the Brass Mule, which are located across from one another in the 600 block of Monmouth Street near Sixth Street, were raided at the same time about 10 p.m., a Newport dispatcher said.
The raids were the result of a more than two-month investigation by Newport Police, said Campbell County Attorney James Daley.
"We assisted Newport with the search warrants and some legal issues," he said. The investigation involved undercover officers in the clubs, he said. "Newport did a really good job on this," he said. Boxes of evidence were also seized from the clubs, he said. That evidence could result in more charges and more arrests, he said. Those arrested included Bobbie Wayman, who is the daughter of the club's owner. We're not sure which owner is her parent She was bartending at the club Tuesday night. Wayman, 39, of Newport, was charged with four counts of promoting prostitution and one count of possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone.
According to Campbell County Attorney James Daley, those charged were:
Teresa Abrams, 25, of Independence, two counts of prostitution. Kelly Johnson, 31, of Newport, two counts of prostitution. Katsha Jervis, 25, of Latonia, two counts of prostitution Jessica Sicker, 22, of Cincinnati, no bar ID. Melissa Hearst, 27, of Florence, one count of prostitution Eboni Moore-Collins, 28, one count nude dancing Sonya Gant, 28, of Ludlow, one count nude dancing Jamie Fenton, 26, Covington, one count of public nudity. Christina Blades, 28, Covington, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bobbie Wayman, 39, Newport, one county of possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone and four counts of promoting prostitution. Jenny Rogg, 22, Bellevue, one count of possession of a controlled substance, morphine. Some of those arrested were taken to the Campbell County jail, others were cited and released. Newport has a problem with its image. After the clean-up of the 1960s it took more than a quarter of a century for the city to become a living place again.

it is interesting to note that when the accused of these raids appeared in court the entire case was described by one of the officials as entrapment.

In the meantime Newport has to deal with a major development that has gone south (shopping mall) and waning interest in the levee (major tenant is a bowling alley)

Good luck to the women who were trying to support children by dancing at the clubs. Good luck to Newport at making the rebirth continue.

All these so called women either pled guilty or was found guilty by a jury. But the majority of these women dont have custody of their children or have serious heroin addictions they are trying to support. Just saying!!!!!!!!!!

If Mina's girls aren't sucking and fucking than she makes no money. Who strip searches there employees before they leave work? Sounds like a major lawsuit if her girls had any brains. Mina is a professional actor and her daughter follows her footsteps. Dirty business, dirty girls, dirty drugs, could go on and on. Did Mina pay taxes on her cash cuts she took from her girls. Doubt it. Property tax yes, employment tax $3.00 per hour give or take $2.00. I'm sure Roger paid taxes on his $30,000 he made working as Mina's bitch, but what about the other cash he took to the boats??? Million dollar in loses so he could keep the money he won. Sound like there is a gambling problem too. Wow the box is open!!!!

Everyone forgets that the Brass was the number one Club in the world in the 1970s.. It brought money and big business to Newport.. Lets try not to push personal beliefs and morals onto others.. Can we not share this one world that we all reside? The clubs in Newport is part of our history and lets not forget where we came from and where we are heading.
