When i lived in Dayton it was a nice clean little town the street i lived on had a lot of trees. It was a nice quiet town to live in The Nolans, Lunsford, the Couches, the Prices, where all good friends of mine and the Coffeys. I moved away we stayed in touch for awhile as the years went by we just drifted away some might have passed away . I been wondering if any of theses people are still living in Dayton. We had a big flood the last year i lived there it pretty much took my house away.Do any of you younger people rember that flood.

Dayton is a ghetto now with islands of good people and maintained houses.

You can thank Section 8 for the downfall of Dayton. I still live here and have to agree with stuck. This has happened to so many of nice small towns thanks to the dispersal of sec.8 into nice neighborhoods, it's like a creeping cancer.

Dayton was sold out. The pool, drive in, roller rink, all gone leaving the youth with nothing to do but get in trouble.

Dayton is still a nice town but bad city administration. Clean out city hall and you will see a big change in this little Jem...

I would have to agree with Ben, clean out city hall and the citizens will see a big difference in Dayton. Is it true, the administrator makes the public works do personal things for him while they are working on city time? I beat if it is, the citizens would love to know more about this guy and his past!!!

I lived in Dayton on 4th St. I was about 17, lived next door to the Fletchers ,Wards. My mom worked at Speers Hospital as a cleaning lady. We left Dayton after the big flood. It distroyed everything we had. Loved that little town.

Maybe someday it could be good again?
The flood wall seems like that needed to happen, for obvious reasons.
It's a shame that the pool, roller rink, and drive in are all gone. But maybe things like that could be brought back? Or perhaps something even better? Covington and Newport are getting investments and slowly improving, so why not Dayton?

Heads up, florence is next on the list to be destroyed by trash, already tons of apartments accepting section 8 housing now.

Dayton is a shit hole filled with shit birds, like all the families that you mentioned, who do nothing but sit around waiting for a shit storm to come along so they can all complain about how shitty their shit stained lives are.

Mr.Duke -Wallace sounds like to me your kind may be what's destroying Dayton. All the family's I mentioned were nice hard working people, that would have done anything to help their neighbors. I'm sure glad I didn't live near you. That was a great town,I went to Dayton High and had wonderful friends. Some of these small towns go down hill because of the city government. They don't want change because they are afraid to give up the money. No matter what you say Dayton was a wonderful place back in the sixtys.
