Told you it was just a matter of time before SACS came back to Gilmer. Said it on many different post on several topix over past 6 months. That's what you get when rogue, agenda driven BOE members run rampant at the expense of the children's education.

Examples are going to be made as I predicted.....

If you think all this is a joke, you are wrong.
Parents that do have kids in school system should be very concerned especially if they are in high school, since accreditation can be lost. Hence, no college acceptance or scholarships awarded to those graduating from non-accredited schools.

Not a laughing matter

This is yet another complete lie, told by the con artists who make a living in the public education system.

Here's the UGA admission requirements for home-schooled or graduates of unaccredited high schools:

https://www.admissions.uga.edu/article/home-e...

And here's the similar GA Tech admission requirements:

http://www.admission.gatech.edu/homeschool

How to they expect students and parents to respect public educators, when all they receive is a never-ending stream of bull$hit?

Stop conning the kids.

Although I agree that most of what Rascal was incorrect, I find it amusing that you think everyone who post on these forums are public educators. Graduating from a non-accredited school would impact a student from getting the HOPE scholarship, and other scholarships and grants.

OK.
You find it amusing that Gilmer students and parents are being deceived about the destruction of their children.

I find it sickening that public educators come on this forum posing as "Parent"s.

I find it amusing that you are obsessed with the fact that everyone who disagrees with you MUST be a teacher, and yes I am a "parent" of Gilmer county school students, too bad you are not an "optimist".

OK, so you find it amusing.
You can claim to be whomever you like.
I post actual links to support my views.

There is nothing that any sane parent would find amusing about the sorry state of public education, or any investigation into the accreditation of Gilmer county schools.

It will be interesting when we find out who made the complaint. My bet would be either Dorsey, trying to screw the County one last time, or someone from the Oakland crowd. Who do you think? Maybe we can start a small betting pool :~)

The Oakland crowd you seem to want to ridicule was taken care of 3 years ago if my memory serves me correctly when the school was closed. If you will check the statistical data on the performance of the children who received/were receiving their education there in relation to the other schools in the county, then maybe you can see why the "Oakland crowd" was more than a little taken back when the school was closed. The state of the education system in this county is pathetic and people are still wanting to talk about geography rather than solutions on how to better educate our children. smh

It is really easy to see why they closed Oakland. It was the worst preforming elementary school, but had the best demographics, so it should have been the best preforming school. They didn't even meet state requirements their last year.

Say what you want, SACS is on top of the current situation, forming an investigation team and will begin making examples of BOE in May. I predict new appointed members to replace those found guilty before the next school year begins. As I said, agenda driven BOE members will pay the price.
