The owner said the snake was as fat as her arm. Are there any snakes of that dimension in Michigan?
Poor dog got hit in the face because dogs fight with their faces. Otherwise the bite might not have penetrated all that fur. Kodi is a victim of the viper war.

The Massasauga can grow fairly large, but the size of an arm? I've never heard nor seen of such a thing. Perhaps it already had a big meal in it's stomach, but then it usually doesn't attack or perhaps being a bit scared, she saw bigger than what it was.
