Francisco Castillo and the mayor Cabaldon are lying about students at River City. They say that only 8 juniors are ready for college. That's a lie. Dozens of students go on to UCs and CSUs, as well as other 4 year colleges.
The claim about "8 students" comes from a test that not all juniors take, and it showed that 8 juniors were already "college-ready" at the time of the test -- as JUNIORS. They weren't just on-track; they were ahead of track. Castillo and the mayor keep lying and saying that only 8 juniors were college ready, when the correct number (out of the half of all juniors who actually took the test) was really 77.
Seventy-seven. Not eight. Big difference. The mayor knows the difference, because he claims to be very familiar with the test in question.
