The sherrif's in that court are very rude and intimidating to defendents family and friends. I have experienced it myself, they physically grabbed me by my arm and held me bc they assumed I was going to confront the DA. Verdicts are very emotional on the accused as well as the victims families.

As someone who was there ... when the D.A. was exiting the courtroom the defendants sister jumped out from her seat and confronted the D.A. when the D.A. tried to move around her she bumped him and clinched her fist to hit him. The officers had every right to apprehend her

I was not there. You are right. Having experienced their intimidation first hand I can relate to her anger. It is a very emotional experience.Com ing in physical contact is wrong, period. I did not touch or speek to the DA when I was physically held though. Just giving my 2 cents.

I think the Deputies shouldve kicked her azz as if she were a man!! Act like a duck, get treated like a duck!!
These Deputies need to control the courtroom and the piece of garbage being tried by the court. I'm glad the Deputies gave the family the respect they deserve!!

Your post does not make sense...you are blaming the deputies for Bernal being angry. The deputies did not step in until SHE acted like an idiot - then they grabbed her. It is their job to do court room security. You are not in the court room EVERYDAY to judge the deputies on ONE incident that happened to you...the person whom you should be angry with is the person who put themselves in the situation to be judged by a jury of 12 by committing a crime that required a trial in the first place! This was a murder trial, for goodness sakes!! He and his hoochie-mama killed another human being!!

Point is emotions are seriously raised in these situations. Wether your family member is guilty or not, you still love them and are very protective. Seems as though you have never been in that situation. Don't comment until you have. Look like a duck, blah blah blah, I used to feel the same.

Why should you be defending their actions. No matter how you slice it, they were wrong. Maybe if they would have learned how to control their emotions, they could have passed that on to their son and he would not being going to jail. They were wrong, I am glad they were taken from the court. Too bad the El Monte PD wasn't there, maybe a kick to the head would have solved the problem. Good job Deputies... Now the 16 year old can follow in big brothers steps and go to jail too...

Scumbag family "values". No wonder he ended up a murderer at such a young age if those were the adult "role models" in his life.

When your brother has ambushed and blown someone apart with a shotgun, why would any intelligent person blame the prosecutor? It only shows the mentality of this family. It's no wonder the Quiroz kid grew up to be a murderer. And for this ignorant sisters information, killing an innocent man with a shotgun and being able to be free in 12 years is practically like getting away with it. Quiroz will still be a young man in his early 30's when he gets out. Most likely to kill again. Why was she complaining? Did this ignorant role model of a sister think he should have gotten probation?

If I had murdered somebody like this in cold blood, the deputies would have to protect me from my own family. My dad didnt raise a criminal and he would have beat my ass. Good job deputies!
