Teens who have sex—whether it's a serious or casual relationship—were at higher risk of being truant and dropping out compared with teens who don't have sex.

That's the reason UTEP has such dismal graduation rates, all the going at it in the cars in the parking garage and in the empty classrooms..... This is know for a fact per what my friendly UTEP police officers tell me.

what the hell kind of irresponsible article is this! Teens do have sex lets not be prudish but to give the message that it may help or at least not hurt school performance?

The sociologists have finally lost their minds. The times has finally flipped out as well. Thanks for undermining more kids you jerks.

I've been a teacher of 25 years and have always considered sex with my teenagers just one of the perks.

I hate this headline because it seem to condone teen sex. While I don't have my head stuck in the stand and think teens don't engage in sex, neither do I think that teens are able to deal with the concenquences of having sex in a mature reality. Their hormones are driving that is for sure, but to deal in casual sex does have drawbacks emotionally and physically. Having intercourse is a bonding moment especially for females and just walk away like nothing happened takes it toll. Not to mention catching something or getting pregnant. Even adults have these problems. I have seen adults have major issues later on. This article needed to be written in a different way and the headline different.

Keeping teenagers from having sex just because of their age, is age discrimination. They are people with all the normal drives and needs the rest of us have – stop picking on people because of their age, and just make sure they don't get pregnant as they enjoy the best sexual years of their life!

As a sexually active teen. I am way less horny and think about it way less after having sex.
