no one is making excuses for his actions.
yea, he could have died and it would be worse.
he did wait for the police,. if he would've left the scene then how did he get arrested? were you there to know what happend? lOl
The article states that he was arrested a mile from the scene of the accident. That certainly sounds like fleeing the scene of an accident to me...sounds like the only reason he did not flee completely was because his car was too damaged from the accident.

The article said that he stopped due to car trouble. Of course we only know what was reported. Problem is, he did not stop at the scene, hard to make excuses on this one buddy. Anything is possible I guess, but my money is on guilty as charged!

Do not make excuses for potential killers...A person CHOSE to drink and then get behind the wheel...CHOSE to speed...CHOSE to leave the scene of a crash....
If he ends up going to jail or prison and not seeing his child grow up...the ONLY person he has to blame is himself...he made the choice to drink and drive and he should thank his lucky stars that the crash did not result in the death of a human being...someone who may also be a father and could have been taken away from his family forever...
Lack of a phone, if he did not have one(the article does not say) does not excuse any of his actions...he should have stayed with his victim, exchanged information, and waited for police...of course that would have meant admitting what he had done...
One last thought...Would you offer up such excuses if the roles had been reversed and the victim of the crime was someone you care about?...My guess...probably not...
Does anyone here think this DUI creep didn't have a cellphone? I dont, and it doesn't matter. he didn't stop.
