I live in the davidsonville md area, and noticed on a daily basis fire equipment driving by me with ligths sirens blaring. Many times after they pass they turn the lights sirens off. This has been going on for months. It seems to make no difference what time of day it is. Are these guys just playing or are they trying to send me some kind of message.

I have been a fireman for 30 yrs so I can answer this question for you with reasonable knowledge. When a report of a building fire is dispatched, they send 4 engines and 2 ladder trucks. When the 1st arriving unit gets on the scene, if it is something small, then they return the other responding units. That is why they would have lights and sirens then turn them off.
