it amazed me what goes on in cornelius.my grandaddy was the only barber in this town for years. there was very little crimes and everybody got along. then here comes lake norman the people that have live their for years do not want a transit system the only wanting this transit system are 1the people that moved here from the north and ruined the town of cornelius. they need to pack their bags and go back to the north. they moved here because of lower taxes. this has backfired. instead of doing this, they have1made taxes higher 2road more congestive and ruin the town of davidson. if the older people of cornelius nc buried at mt zion cementary(including my granddaddy) would turn over in their grave because of the town council. they do not know what they are doing. their is not one council member that grew up in coprnelius. i encourage the people in the rural area to save what little bit of origional cornelius remains today. go fight (rural cornelius) for the native and people like my grandaddy. save what little is left of the true town of cornelius. the true and old cornelius was 2 things 1unite littlt town with it own characteristic buildings and people 2nice frienly place to livebut the new cornelius is not what the people wanted in this area. i say hello 1to native and cornelius and 2god bless you for trying to save GOOD OLD CORNELIUS THE TRUE CORNELIUS. this is an unusual ending hello to grandaddy clarence blakely( miss the old barber shop and pool hall)that everybody use to visit in corneliusnc

Amazing Article. 2 Commissioners were quoted saying "it was still too early to vote". Give it a rest. In the June 15, 2009 Town Board Meeting, the following was taken from the minutes stated by Commissioner Jeter regarding the same subject. 2 years later not enough info, but 2 years ago he wanted to vote when he was on the board with Commissioner Lucas and Sisson. I would say this was an attempt to get support for the 2011 Campaign. Commissioner Jeter, trouble making up your mind?

Commissioner Jeter said I do not support a deferral. This project is three years in the making. At some point we have to make a decision. We started the Beatties Ford Small Area Road Plan Study as a result of the original request of this project. From that, we thought we had everything done and then when we got ready to approve stuff then we needed to do the Vance Road study, which then turned into the Northwest Thoroughfare study, which then turned into the Highway 73 widening brouhaha. It seems like that every time the petitioner gets to a certain point, we come up with a new obstacle. This is a process that based on what Commissioner Lucas just said would take a petitioner over three years to get done. To put that in perspective, letís say it doesnít get done until December, you could have three different Town Boards hear a project before we voted on it. I tried to think of a word better than asinine to describe that, but I couldnít. We told the developer letís do the Beatties Ford Small Area Plan and then we can move forward. Okay, now letís do the Vance Road study. At some point we have to make a decision pro or con, yes or no. Iím not advocating what we decide, but a decision has to be made. Every time we get close to the finish line, I think itís unfair that we create other obstacles that have to be jumped and I certainly donít support a deferral for that reason.

I've seen Stacy Phillips on TV talking about saving their property and rural land, but less than 2 years ago, the same property owned by the Phillips was to be sold for a Shopping Center and they were fine with bringing the city to the rural area when they were going to profit. Sounds like this is about money not saving the rural area.
