In my opinion the taser-stun gun should be used only as an alternative to deadly force. Since 1999 approximately 200 subjects have died subsequently to having the taser used on them.

Currently, there are only four police departments that put restrictions on the number of times that a person can be tasered.

There should be much tighter controls over its use. Obviously, the police like the taser, it gives them the opportunity to subdue the suspect without coming into physical contact.

However, is that enough to justify its indiscrimate Use? I think not, again, in my opinion the taser-stun gun should be used only as an alternative to deadly force. Also, I would like to see a suspension of its use after every time a fatality results, to determine exactly what is going on, meaning the cause of death.

He stole, fought, and so the consequences are all on him. Bottom line.

Yeaaaah, that's right, and theft is a crime punishable by death.

NOT in this country, folks. This was clearly excessive. I just love seeing conservatives squirm over stuff like this -- when their common sense just cannot quite manage to overcome their knee-jerk sensibilities. "MUST support the law enforcement agencies always! NO exceptions! They can do NO wrong!" Lord, it's laughable.

Excessive force??? Maybe they should call you to come help the next time some beligerant ass comes in wanting to fight!! Yeah, he was hancuffed, but he could still kick, bite, spit, etc.etc...No one invited him to be a guest at the jail, he broke the law, and then tried to act like a wild animal. Besides, have you tried to restrain someone jacked up on who knows what!!

I hate that this young man is dead, but I have to agree with "A Cop's Wife." These policemen/women who put their lives on the line each day also need to be protected from the maniacs they deal with each day. The deceased's own wife said he was not acting normally.

He was a bad apple, I'm glad they killed him, he deserved it. Let's just execute every criminal in jail so we can have a Christian state...wait, isn't murder one of the commandments? damn it! let the crusades begin again, we'll kill them all and then have a society of good god fairing people.
