New housing development ready to build in downtown Santa Cruz

The ceremony, held at the corner of Walnut Avenue and Center Street, marks the beginning of a yearlong building process that will ultimately result in downtown Santa Cruz's first housing development since 2007, according to a press release from Walnut Commons.
