California seeks to ban free, single-use carryout bags in retail

Jun 5, 2010 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Chain Store Age

New York City The California State Assembly on Wednesday narrowly approved a bill would make California the first state in the nation to ban single-use plastic and paper bags from being handed out free of charge at supermarkets, drug stores, convenience stores and liquor stores.

Absolutely NOT!!!
Ignorant beings like you are exactly why those who've left Ca. left, and now the ignorant beings like you have somehow (by buying votes, obama phones, welfare, food stamps etc...) gotten control of this nation,(by buying votes from deadbeats), and that's why people want to now leave this country!

Top 10 “Most Corrupt” List Dominated by Obama Administration.

President Obama and key members of his Democrat cabinet like Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, disgraced Attorney General Eric Holder, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, and UN Ambassador Susan Rice were all among the top ten most corrupt politicians in Washington for 2012, according to an annual list compiled by the non-partisan Judicial Watch. Also on the roster were several lawmakers including two GOP congressmen from Florida and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada).

The president himself made the infamous “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” list due to a series of scandals and broken promises that have plagued virtually his entire time occupying the White House. Lawless behavior, regular violations of the U.S. Constitution, unprecedented secrecy, and abuse of so-called “executive privilege” to protect his senior officials all contributed to Obama’s designation as one of the most crooked politicians in the capital today.

Please take Piers Morgan with you when you move out of the country.

Adam James Michael Robinson, the British national who flew to the United States to have sex with an underage Highland girl, was sentenced this week to state prison for eight years.

Sorry we didn't check to see if he was a Muslim either.

you is all nuts and crazy to. the party of GOD is the teaparty and god wont like it if you dont straight off agree with him and then he gets mad and the rest get going. Now what we got to do is stop the libral fagitz from taking our guns and cigarettes and taxing the rich as then we will not get to be rich if they get all taxed and then get mad and then we arnt gone to get there to be rich to. Messing with the rich is stupid and not smart or a good idea as it pisses them off and then what are gone to do for leaderships? The radio guy proved that if we was all reqirued to buy and carry arms then them debt would be erased and we could win the war on. He showed how the libral free food, free rent and all the freeloader stuff for funny taliking smarty pants was stopped then we would be on e z street. The goverment should stay out of everything thing and leave my stuff to me and my womans sdi alone and stop the weirdos and frorgners from aliens.

The children often complain to me that the cost of their Government "education" keeps rising while at the same time they are finding it harder and harder to find Government controlled employment after they are awarded Government diplomas.

I always tell them that there are indications the Government college bubble is bursting. I remind the kids that when the extremist tax and control master revolutionary element are reduced to nickle and diming hungry food eaters with Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes, the end cannot be far behind.

I always refer the kiddies to an article published by "Business Insider" entitled "The College Bubble Has Finally Burst".

According to the writer:

"Private colleges are offering record financial assistance to keep classrooms full...Some schools are seeing just 20% of the students they accepted enrolling, versus the usual rate of 33%. These schools have raised tuition discount rate — the price after grants and scholarships — to an all-time high of 45%.

"Meanwhile, the median sticker price increased just 3.9% last fall, the smallest gains in 12 years. And at public schools, the sticker price climbed just 4.8%, also a 12-year low.

"The Millennial Generation that voted so heavily for Barack Obama -- 66 to 32 percent in 2008, 60 to 37 percent in 2012 -- has had a hard time finding jobs, even with diplomas in hand. Especially if their degrees are in gender studies or similar fields beloved of academics."

During the early days of the revolution, revolutionary activists (now in power) advised their followers to "get a Government "education"" lest their lot were to look forward to a lifetime of preforming productive labor. If what the writer says is true, the children will soon find gainful employment doing work Americans do not "want" to do.

What happened to the topic at hand, take away bags. Is it really so hard to see the next link in the ever-so-lengthy chain of government control of our lives. Isn't that how it's done? An inch at a time, the powers that be convince the populace that they know what's best for us and will repay us with something better, more beneficial. We buy it, then wait for the next shoe to drop. By the time it is all said and done we will all stand bug-eyed and slack jawed and say, "HOW IN THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?

Now I am wondering about this and have no idea. This does not mean that I have no understanding of why it is essential for each of us to have a bag. Why do we not buy just what we need for that upcoming meal? This would save on bags and would save on gas if you cooked only that which you needed immediately, though gas can come from badly seasoned or poorly cooked foods such as underdone cauliflower which causes some very nasty gas. This is provable each time we cater a wedding and the cooks feel they have not been propperly considered; they then put out huge platters of crudites, including raw cauliflower, and a number of bowls of ranch dressing into which they have pureed some more raw cauliflower parts and then they watch the guests as they grab the stuff, dunk and eat it all...then watch as the poor folks begin to separate from the little natural groups into single stands inching towards the windows as they feel the bloat approach and the great blow oncoming. Ha! say the cooks. Ha! say the waiters, Ho, says the drinks manm, Hooo? say the musicians, and Waaaah! says the bride and her family who have paid for this as the room fills with the most revealing odors, scents, reeks, stenches and gagging gas.

During the early days of the revolution, the revolutionaries (now in power) prophesied that once their rule was consolidated, war would come to an end. For that reason, they said, energy that had previously been directed outward would need to be directed inward.

Since the revolutionaries came to power, external war has not ended. The cuts of a thousand deaths have been inflicted inward upon our people, though - a people whose God fearing ideals of freedom and individual responsibility the Godless revolutionaries hate. We are a conquered and a defeated people. This condition may be terminal, well beyond reversibility.

The internationalist revolutionary despots justify the loss of our freedoms by claiming those freedoms cannot be quantified in $Dollar terms, therefore there is no calculable loss. Let us hope the children are not so easily tricked as were the spoiled rebellious "know nothing" 60s 70s generation.

Cauliflower contains nicotine. Perhaps the political ruling class will "help" the cauliflower eaters by having their regulatory agencies impose a stiff cauliflower tax on the stuff.

This could become the next "Fear of the Month" item for, say August. There could be millions spent on training a new breed of cauliflower sniffer dogs and creating a fleet of specially equipped drones to search out photograph and destroy buildings and gardens somewhere near to suspected unconfirmed grow sites and spy out anyone suspected of harboring or carrying cauliflower. A great new arm of the "Fear this Now" industry could make greater fortunes for the already fortunate. Flight delays and long lines are expected and unfortunate "mistakes" will happen as we undertake the never ending cauliflower sniff challenge. The secularites will rage at the believers and the politicians will blather and fart making no sense or meaningful act and the dome will be filled with senseless rhetoric and rights will just have to be given up to save us. Sigh.

The rule or rather the ruse is that Republicans don't call these increases in the cost of public services taxes.

They call them tolls, or fees, or tuition increases.

But they are taxes by another name.

And they are all regressive taxes taxes that disproportionately hit working people and the middle class.
