I had the pleasure of being one of Mr. Martinez's students. Many years ago, when Migrant education and Bilingual education were in our schools. Mr Martinez always had a piece of advise regardless of your color, language or socio-economic background.
I believe he undertands schools, but most importantly, students and their needs.
He definitely has my vote.

George Martinez sent children out to the Lockwood, Henry Cowell area this weekend with offensivly oversize signs. Without permission they papered our beauitful neighborhood and Henry Cowell entrance area with these disgusting things. They even placed one at the entrance to Brook Knoll school. He lost a lot of votes. We in this neighborhood all decided not to vote for him due to the gall and insulting nature of this advertising. Suggestion George, take them down before you offend even more people. No one is so unintelligent to vote from a sign anyway, especially such a offensive one.

I'm sure you were all set to vote for Martinez and then those darn signs changed your mind, right? Yeah right! If you're going to front for Hinde, you should figure out a less transparent way to do it! And based on you last line about taking signs down because people don't vote from them, I suppose you're asking Hinde take down his signs that are in public right-of-ways all over the place, right?

Why would you make assumptions on others voting ? Think outside the box.
Its called critical thinking skills. One voters need to utilize.
Nothing above states HInde is the choice. Many voters make
decisions based on intelligence. Think back to when voting started in this
country. Its acceptable to not vote for either if no rightful canidate presents themselves, In this case neither is acceptable.

Why would I make an assumption? Oh, I don't know, just a hunch. BTW, are you making the case that an example of critical thinking skills would be deciding not to vote for someone because you don't like the look and location of their campaign signs? I guess that certainly qualifies as an outside the box interpretation of "critical thinking."

George and Chaka are both good guys, but they're also dyed-in-the-wool union advocates, and the public receives no representation at all when unions are allowed to bargain with school board members who are pro-union from the beginning.

If you agree that collective bargaining should fairly represent all parties, Hinde and Locatelli are the only responsible choices in this election.

I know George Martinez well enough to know that no signs went up with permission from the property owners.

Yes, some people are that proud to support him.

I don't know about Locatelli, but Hinde endorsed Ron Paul for president, a candidate who has argued that public schools should be abolished, and "doesn't accept" evolution. That doesn't seem to me like a "responsible" choice to oversee public education in the county to me.

ignore that last redundant "to me." It's late.

I have had the pleasure of meeting both Martinez and Hinde. They both seem like stand up individuals and I dont have anything negative to say about either of them. I like the fact that Hinde is and has been invested in the community for the majority of his life. I like the fact that he has 2 children in the local school system because I feel like he can relate to me on a lot of issues (being a parent with children in our local schools as well). I am also impressed that he managed to turn a 2 and a half million dollar deficit into a slight surplus in just under 2 years without cutting services to our children or teachers. I was a little concerned about the fact that he is only 35. Martinez seemed like a nice old man. I like the fact that he was a teacher for so long and I imagine that that could help him give some insight. Like I said I dont have anything bad to say about either candidate, but it seems like Hinde has done a fine job over the past 2 years and deserves a shot at an other term.

Hinde is backed by the Senior Coalition, a group that actively seeks to defund schools.

Ask Chaka how long he was on food stamps while working for the union office?????
He had a lot of kids and used the system. I will never vote for this union fraud.

So are Hinde's large signs offensive too?

Well I'm just glad that this voter is not representing our schools. Maybe you should "know" how to spell before voicing your opinion.
