Danube police chief, wife accused of stealing from smelt-fry fund

Danube Police Chief Lester Schneider Jr., 39, and his spouse, Jammie Jean Schneider, 38, both of Danube, made their first appearances Thursday in district court in Renville County.

They thought they were part of the Metro Gang Strike Force. Those smelt were try to sell drugs to those attending the fry. They just confiscated the cash.

his daddy put the money back, and a theif is a theif, and a theif belongs in Jail, lock him up with the ones he locked up, and take his daddy with him, since he has envolvement trying to cover the scene of a crime............Nothing worst than Police Officers think that they are ABOVE the law

its a town of 500 people who cares. let the town handle it. two people in town care, its not a bunch hicks like the news made it seem. besides he hasnt even been convicted YET. fox 9 will look stupid if hes found not guilty.

Danube Police Chief Lester Schneider Jr's daddy Lester Schneider Sr and the police chief prior to Lester, put Lester through school to become a police deputy. Once Lester had a few months under his belt, the existing police chief retired and daddy schneider put Jr in as the new police chief. Jr cowers whenever anyone confronts him, the only reason he is still there is anyone that can do the job better, moves on. Lester needs to have his licence yanked, his daddy needs to retire and that town needs to stop whining.

In a town like Mayberry Barney just needs to go to jail.. I would have a hard time being stopped by this duffuss and paying a ticket for breaking the law when He, his daddy, and his wife thinks is okay to just take whenever and its not a crime.. I feel sorry for his kid being raised by a crooked cop and a deadbeat mom..

You should all take a long, hard, look at your own life. Are you perfect? Throw the first stone! I dare you! I used to live in Danube. It's small, but I do believe it is big in Gods' eyes! Les and his wife have children that have to put up with the mistake their Dad and Mom made, the money was paid back..you are out nothing...he's out of a job, probably out of a home, I'm pretty sure the children are getting alot of ____ at school...so Danube; back off' take his job away, pay someone else twice what you paid him, because I'm sure if he worked at the Beet Plant he would of never got behind in his house payment to start with. Danube you should be so ashamed!!!!!!!!!! What he did was not right but what you are doing is so wrong! Sharon L!!!!! and the rest of you, shame on you!

Are you kidding me??? are we missing the point.. cop no cop kids no kids he STOLE from the community.. someone appointed to an office of trust and he burned that trust and now walks around playing on the local softball team drinking beer joking around with the guys like nothing happened..
