I thought the whole idea of PB&J was to feed the hungry children ? Well i know of a young boy whose family is having a real hard time right now and are living with a friend . For the past two weeks he has stood on the side of the road for thirty minutes waiting for a bag lunch only for them to drive right on by looking at him in the mirror if you don't have any lunches left at least stop and tell him so don't just leave him standing on the side of the road waiting .This family's Car is broke down so they are relialent on the kindness of others to take them places...Please PB&J people if any of you read this please stop and give this child his bag lunch make a little boy happy and give him a smile while doing so God Bless You..just from someone who cares ..

If you have the money to own a computer with internet, then you should have enough money to buy your child some peanut butter and make your own dang sandwich. I bet you aint even a tither.

You must not have read the letter you responded to or you would have seen this letter was not about me or my family .My children are grown and living on their own .I have had the same job for the last 12 years in which i have worked 9 hour days and i do worry about other kids feeling like there are people like you who don't care about them.. the P>B&j program is to feed the hungry children on the weekend to let them know that someone does care.you say you are a preacher where i sure hope the members in you're church have more heart than you..I pay my way i don't live on walfare or get foodstamps and i pay my bills that letter had nothing to do with me .my concern was the boy and the other children who are left standing by the road waiting a lunches... thank you

Sounds to me like he's too concerned with collecting tithes and being self-righteous to actually minister to anyone!

Churches will do almost anything to get a few "tithing members" to join their little religious empires. Pass out free food, etc. This is no different from any other business that spend a little money marketing, in hopes of getting more customers. The customers here are church members and the "product" they pay for is the sermon.
The sad thing is most "sermons" are nothig but a few jokes, a personal testimony that may or may not be true, and barely even mentioning the Bible. No wonder so many Christians are leaving churches.

Very very well said. U go to church after church after church and they all preach the same thing.nothing new. money is what its all about. No religion can save anybody...

Yeah, a lot of pastors don't study to feed their sheep. While the congregation is at work, making a living, the pastor (who is suppose to be setting the example) is playing golf, or sleeping on the church sofa, or "visiting". The Saturday before the sermon, he gets a sermon off the internet or from some commentary to plagiarize. The people that actually work for a living, give this lazy freeloader a part of heir hard earned money because they think that he has labored all week putting together his sermon for Sunday (and because they have been lied to about the false doctrine of mandatory tithing). The bible says that if a man won't work, then he shouldn't eat. That goes for freeloading pastors too. Some of these guys are so fat because they are so lazy. But just because he calls himself "the man of god" then he thinks we are not to ever question him, or expect him to get a job and support his family, and still serve the Lord out of love (and not for profit) just like all the Sunday school teachers do week after week for free.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I am just glad that others are starting to notice these things too. The best way to see how much the pastor loves his church family or loves the Lord is to stop his paycheck. The ministry should not be a career anyway. Like you said, if Sunday School teachers can serve Christ out of love, then why can't the guy that is supposed to be setting the highest standard. Many of these guys even want you to sign unbiblical pledges to promise to support them with money in order for you to be "fit" to serve in their church. Amazing how a pastor will not let a person use their spiritual gift unless they pay into the coffers, but he wont use his spiritual gift unless he is paid out of them. Beware of these kinds of wolves that extort you of your money asking you to sign these things. The bible says to avoid extortioners.
