They didnt post the whole article that states that the motorcyclist's lights weren't on (according to a third party witness and the truck deiver), he wasn't wearing a life-saving helmet, and he was driving excessively over the speed limit.
Hopefully this will help others remember to not take such irresponsible risks.
Rest In Peace.

Yea um it also doesn't say anything from the other handful of witnesses that say his light was on. Or that he was on a bike that had an automatic headlight that turned on when it got dark, there was no off switch for the light on the bike. Oh yea I forgot it doesn't say that they said a helmet wouldn't have saved his life since the collusion was head on, he would have died or basically been a potato for the rest of his life. And okay he was probably speeding but um that means it wasn't the trucks fault for pulling out in front of him.. as far as im concerned if a car is coming up fast u wait for them to turn not pull out. I just want everyone to realize that um no one l, not even me knows exactly what happened out there, but a man shouldn't be insulted for a headlight that hasn't even been said was on or off yet, and a helmet (people dont wear them all the time!)
-my prays go out to his family and to the man driving the truck

If you knew him you would know he wasn't afraid of death. He took alot of risk. But in turn he was smart. He would never put others at risk. That wasn't his bike. He had traded bikes with a friend and were out cruisin after getting off work early on a Friday night. He was out having fun when this all happened. Yea a helmet may have helped but I'm sure his headlight was on considering pollack is a dark road and you can't see anything without it. Sounds like the driver and passenger were lying. But what's done is done. Nathan was a hell of a guy and always made you smile. RIP buddy. We will ride again

"He would never put others at risk"

Yet he sped down a residential neighborhood at speeds near 100mph.

That's putting A LOT of people at risk.

Nate will be missed by all that knew him. Ive known nate for over 20 yrs and he was a great guy! Will truly be missed. Badmouthing the dead helps no one but hurts all those who knew him. He was killed by a truck! The headlight didn't kill him! Ive seen people go to prison for vehicular manslaughter for less. I love you nathon and I hope ur up there laughing your ass off at all us here in Iowa!

I have known Nathan since he was 13 years old he lived with me off and on over the years and that kid had the biggest heart in the world if these people really knew Nathan they would not be saying these things Nathan knew how to ride and wrench on bikes I know he wasn't riding a bike without the headlight on Nathan was no dummy got it! Nathan has a big family and two small children that lost the most important person to them ever please let us all mourn him before placing blame I loved Nathan as much as my own he deserves to spoken of highly as he was a very big deal to a lot of people in Evansville and here in iowa! love you Nathan I will always have your back forever

Anyone who rides knows that bikes headlight do not have o n and off switch. Night or day the lights are on. Driver was 19 and jus want paying attention. And of course he is going to blame it on nate.... He doesn't want to go to jail. And the other witness was a friend.. Come on. People pull out in front of riders all the time. More than Half the time it isn't the riders fault. I am a fellow rider and have had close calls myself.. I'm sure every rider has.... With drivers who r not paying attention. I have kicked many a car sue to changing lanes Nate was an experienced rider. He wouldn't have jus run into the driver. He would know how to avoid it if he could... In this case driver jus tried to beat him and or wasn't looking.

100 mph where did u get that. The trucks lights were prolly the ones not on cause even at 100 mph he could have avoided a turning truck. He was a very experienced rider and now his two young kids have to grow up without their dad because a teenager wasn't paying attention. Very interested if to hear about the drug alcohol test... 100mph or not you don't turn right in front of a motorcycle. Kid should be held accountable. If u rearend someone who's fault is if u pull out in front of another driver which causes another vehicle to hit u whose fault is it. No different for motorcycle.

Hey screw all yall, every motorcyclist has experienced a car not paying attention, but geting on a motorcycle you are prepared to die that day, being a rider myself i can say this. My heart and condolences go out to the family of the rider and even the truck. Needless to say a bike is a death trap riders know this so quit bashing the truck driver, rip rider, hopefully we can ride with the man upstairs together sometime. Truck driver please look out for bikers thanks biker nation

He saw his kids when he could so dont go there. He worked 21 days straight til midnight, was he supposed to go wake them up then? At least he had a good job and paid for his offspring which is more than 99.999% of people on this site can say.
