Just got out and looking for a decent job. Who all is hiring? And any of them hiring people with felonies. I only have this one Class B Burglary, but I've had a hard time finding any work.

It is going to be hard for you to find work but, it's out there. However nobody likes a thief and WHY if given the choice would an employer hire someone that is a convicted thief. I assume they would be afraid that you would steal from them as well. You've heard the saying, once a thief always a thief.

I am glad you know the circumstances of the situation, the charge was bullshit. It was between my old lady and I, we got into an argument and I left. That night I returned to get some of my clothes, laptop, and a few other things. She called in saying I stole HER laptop. Because I couldn't provide proof of who had legal possession they pushed for a burglary. It's what I get for being with a dumb b!tch to begin with, but it is not like I broke into some random home and stole shit, she just set my a$$ up for failure. I don't know if bringing in police report would help or not, not many employers are even offering me the chance.

Future employers are going to care about the circumstances. They are going to see theft and burglary and your interview is over before it even started. I'm not judging. I'm just being honest.

I know as an employer, if I have the 2 people applying for the same job, 1 with a theft charge and 1 without, I'm choosing the one without.

Maybe on the application where it says are you a felon? You can put "yes: will disclose details if needed." At least then At least you would possibly get the opportunity for an interview. Whatever you do, DONT LIE.

What details are you leaving out? Something is missing in your story. Was it her place? Was it really her laptop? Were you not married?

Sorry but if ANYONE moves in with you, your mom, your dad, your busted girlfriend and they get in fight and ask the person who moved in to get out and they don't and the police are called they will say this is their home and you must file an eviction. There is a place called rodent pro....don't know too many more...but most places don't do background checks don't disclose it....9times out of 10 you won't get the job.
I understand what your going through. I got into a fight with another girl and her necklace was broken and there was a huge crowd (anyone could have got it) and I got charged with robbery and I never was found with the necklace I never had.

The OP is def not telling the whole story. While our justice system isn't perfect, you don't get B felonies and go to prison for taking your own stuff from an ex lol. Nice try tho.

I was living with her at the time. She claimed the property was hers. And said I forcibly entered the home. (The side door could be entered using a credit card). This is the story and I didn't get prison time, I got house arrest because of the circumstances.

You can't get charged for burglary if you were living there unless you're dumb and your public defender hated you.
