Go to Pine Haven or Heritage & tell them your interested & they will sponsor you threw the classes, they make you sign a contract agreeing to work for them for a period of time afterwords though. Or you can contact SWISHA & pay $950 to go threw the class with no commitment to anyone.

Westpark still does it and you don't have to sign anything saying you'll stay there and work for them which you probably wont want to stay...js

I paid $950 at ivy tech to do mine. An oncw yir employed with a company for so long they have to reimburst yu for the class. But yu have to bring it to the employers attention when hired on bcus there is only a small window of time that theyr obligated to reimburst. I recently got my cnas an haven't quite found a permanent facility that I like yet. But it takes time. I guess

Call heritage center and they will sponsor you to take the classes. Everything paid and they even give you a guaranteed job there !

I think work one sponsors too. The CNAs steal at heritage. Leave your belongings in the car.

It's not fair to say the cna's at heritage steal. Obviously not all cna's there steal. There are a few bad seeds everywhere. Heritage provides lockers for free. Take advantage of it & put your belongings in there, don't leave your valuables laying around a bunch of ppl you don't know. Work one does sponsor, will pay 100% of your cost.

Yes, it only takes one dishonest employee to make a place feel unsafe. I worked at a place with units. There was this one unit I would float to where there was one dishonest person who would go through coats and purses and eat your food in the fridge. the Person was finally caught but several people had lost cell phones and money. After the person was fired, things were a lot better. It's not fair to label the whole staff over possibly one or two mean people.

So do you take the classes at work one or are they somewhere else? And are there any nursing homes on the busline?

It's the first facility you go to. You can't shop around. Also they are about to change that.
