What really irks me is when white people justify their use of the word when a black person asks them not to. Da f*ck? "Black people use it" is not a valid excuse. Yeah sometimes fam can get away with certain things outsiders can't, it is what it is.

You know who pisses me off when they use that word like its their god given right? Amber husk. She thinks because she dates brown men that she can say it whenever she feels like it. I say shut up you piece of trash and sit tf down cause you will never amount to nothing [email protected]!! She is such a punk. She talks real big but then when you call her out its a different story. Girl Boo!

Yes it is a horrible term! But I believe we(black people) look at it like, we took lemons and made lemonade. It is still not right but that's just the way it is. It is unacceptable when white people use it because 1. They are the ones that named us that, as a degrading name 2.they haven't been through being beaten and raped and treated like a animal, so I think when a white person says the N word it just brings back the past. This is an enlightening post. I think I'm gonna try not to use the word anymore.#thanks :)

It's a racial term. How can you not be racist and use it black or white. I say if u use it u leave urself open to it and can't get upset when u hear it. Period

okay this is where my mindset is on using the "n" word at all.

if someone is offended when he/she is called "fat." should the offender explain , "well i meant the word that is spelled "phat." when it's spelled like that then it means "cool, heavy and big-boned."

it's as simple as eleminating it from the vocab completely.

imo the word is not a term of endearment, comradery, or kinship. it is a word that was born from hatred, death, discrimination, jim crowinism, forced segragation and lynching.
the n-word has no merit for the intelligent people of today. regardless of color.

<quoted text>then YOU have an issue. its a word, and the only person that gives it power is YOU. dare i say that YOU are racist, considering you have a "self described" problem with whites saying it more than you do any other group.

Im white, I lived in a diverse community no race more dominant than another in populatiin, but through conversations with friends of all races and my black fakily members I cant believe you would tell a black person it is their fault for being offended or any person. Their is no equivelant for any other race to the n word. It was used to make them feel non human and worthless, it was a constant reminder of the culture that was stripped from them, a word that originated in africa by africans turned against them to make them feel self hatred and wish they were white. I admit that I've heard my friends tease my jewish friends about holocaust crap which is terrible, yet they get less offended and I never understood it until now. They still have their culture, that was a tragedy but they ovrrcame, they dont hate themselves, but the n word used by a white person is just a trigger to feel self hatred and remember the culture forever taken away. So if they want to take the word back and turn it into something they have and not something we said, thats a cultures choice and I may not understand where it came from but thats the way it is. Sorry for the rant

I want to point out that the n word originated in africa and white people turned it into hatred and discrimination, I guess now its just turning back

who has beaten you? have you been treated like an animal? the only "poor black" thing you have is how your ANCESTORS were treated. it hasnt one damn thing to do with you personally.. NOTHING!! get on with it.. my parents were poor as dirt, and i dont ask a single mothertrucker for nothin, nor do i expect special treatment because i came from nothing. the excuses you used above are RETARDED!!! the (N) word is a southern spin off for negro. in georgia specifically, they draw the o into an a. hence negrah. and from there, i do believe it was the blacks that took it to the full (n) word status it has today, considering most cant say r's correctly, or the simple word (ask).. white people didnt slanderize this name, they simply called you what you called yourselves. exactly the same thing 100 yrs later, and yet, y'all are diggin up the past and tryin to chew on some old dead mans bones. get on with life, and stop acting like you personally were a slave.

I can't begin to understand something as stupid as anybody thinking calling someone the N word is cool. I hear people calling their children that bs. That is the dumbest shit. So the children call everybody else the word. No wonder they don't have a true understanding of life. They didn't have parents, just donors and wombs!! I think it is disgusting and I will let any b**ch or bastard know to not let that come out their mouth when speaking of me or anybody that is of meaning to me!!! Folks disrespect their own everyday and think it's cute. To me it's just like calling someone a b**ch or any other demeaning word. But you know that around here it's the dumb leading the dumb! A blind man could lead u better, atleast that way you might have a chance!

yea, i get down right pissed off when people today scream and cry about crap that doesnt have anything to do with them. seeing someone cry/whine about stuff that happened just last week is sad. seeing people cry/whine about stuff that happened 100 years ago is pathetic, especially when they claim "we were done wrong" or "we were slaves". there is no living person this day that was a slave in the plantations that the civil war free'd.. NONE. my grand father died from black lung. i want to get some of his disability check.. my argument to gain something for me because my grandfather suffered is exactly the same thing as your argument about you gaining something because your grandfather suffered. nobody living today saw people sold. nobody living today saw those atrocities. i agree, it was a horrible thing to live through, but not one person today lived through it, and any "poor slave" attitude should have died with the last one that held the title. you and people that think like you are the reason we as a country cannot move forward. you are holding onto the past, because you are afraid to let go of your "guilt trip" against white people. i havent "owned" a single person in my life, nor have my parents. you have never been "auctioned" or "owned" either. please move along, nothing to see here. just someone that thinks they are entitled to something that has absolutely nothing to do with them.

Guilt trip....where? I never gave a guilt trip! The topic asked my opinion and I gave it! "We" meaning African Americans, which I am, is my ancestors and I. No none of those thing were done to me, BUT that Is my HISTORY. No one could ever treat me like that, not even attempt. But don't fool yourself racism still exists and you're a fool if you don't believe that! Nobody owes me anything and I don't believe that they do. Never even stated that! So where did you get that I feel entitled to something...oh yes ya made it up in ya head. I'm entitled to respect,as we all are, and I won't accept anything less! Have a good day and I'm done with this ignorant, hide behind a screen crap!

If a white person calls me a n***** to my face, they will get punched in the throat.

If a straight person calls my best friend who is gay a f****** they will be punched in the throat.

That shit is still unacceptable to me .

what i find hilarious about all of this is because youre black and i am white i should be afraid of offending you. I see things everyday that makes me sick - but i dont care what you say or do.

none of you are entitled to anything more than what the constitution grants. i dont personally use the n word - but if i wanted to who is going to stop me? im willing to die for what i say and do...understand?

i suggest - becareful what you wish for... and more leary of whom you provoke over something as dumb as skin color, or a word.
