child support issue

My employer garnishes my child support weekly from my paycheck, however, the employer has not paid the child support for two months. I went to the prosecutor and they said as long as she pays something, there is nothing we can do. HUH? My checkstubs show it's been taken out so where is it and why aren't they paying it? What's the point of a garnishment? I asked for the garnishment so I didn't get behind and look, it's behind so to speak. Isn't it fraud or theft??

I have a similar issue. My childs father has been having $ garnished from his check & i am not recieving even half of what they take from him! I have called to talk to my caseworker,(whom is usually really helpfull), but oddly, they have not returned my calls since this started happening. Idk what to do. Hopefully someone with more knowledge or experience with this problem, will give some advice. Seems like the government only contacts you when they want $, but not when its you that wants $ that is to provide for ur children.

if ur boss is takin the money out nd usin it for his own personally reasons or pleasures then yes u can get him for thieft nd it will stop but idk if thell make him pay it all back or not n das for if hes really takin it out nd its goin threw the case worker nd there not givin it to the parent that is suppose to recieve it then if cought they will get fired nd go to jail but the sad part of that is sometimes the government likes to stick together

I'd suggest calling the judges' office that ordered the garnishment, I bet he/she could straighten things out.

Didn't occur to anyone that there is probably more than one garnishment coming from this guys check? No one is stealing your money. If more is being garnished then is going toward child support then you must have an additional judgement you're paying.

My ex husband works for a company that has not been paying him at all!!! He is now behind over 1000 dollars in support and the best advice I can give him is to FIND a NEW JOB. In most business the garnishments are listed and if more than one garnishment is taking money you should be able to tell by looking at your check stub..... I know this because I used to do payroll and used quick books which is what employers use. If the check says he is being garnished for child support and the company is not sending the money contact the indiana collection agency and report this. It is illegal and is theft. But in your situation I would tell you to probably look for a new job and turn your present employer in.

You can only have one garnishment at a time coming out of your check. I only have 1 garnishment. MY support. What do you call it when your check is a couple hundred dollars short and the state is on you for being behind? I'd say atleast fraud.

Not true about only one garnishment at a time you can actually have two.... And child support is one of them even if you have 50 other suits against you only one of them besides your child support can garnish you....
