right, make people wrinkle, a million lines all around their lips, causes all types of cancer. I hate cigg's terrible habit..
I can't understand why people smoke. It's expensive, it's unhealthy, and it makes you smell very very bad. I won't go anywhere that allows smoking, but I can understand why people would be upset who can't.
Whether you like it or not taking the right to smoke in bars is bs...if you don't want to be around smoke go to a different bar...fact is 14 bars have shutdown in evansville have shut down due to the smoking ban..way to screw small business owners city council...I'm no economist but creating laws that directly destroy more jobs in an already shitty economy sounds like the decision of an uneducated moron...
Bet they would

Your economy is so fragile that you think a bunch of smokers and their trashy bars are gonna save you from the recession? Move to a real city, rednecks. And no, you won't be able to smoke at bars in real cities either (maybe a few backwards towns down south like Memphis and Little Rock.)

Doesn't help the economy to support killing it's citizens and increase health care costs either. I think they are looking for the bigger picture by banning public smoking. Every major city has done this well before eville and has done just fine.

It's an offensive smell that stays with you all day/night. No one should have to count on stinking really badly (for hours afterwards) every time they want to go out for a beer. Get a clue, hicks.

The fact that bars shut down maybe deeper than the smoking ban. All dine in food industry's went to non smoking they seem to be doing fine also there are a lot of bars still up and going. Remember to run a bar is hard lots of taxes and laws you have to pay and follow. That maybe the reason they shut down.

Typical white trash redneck. That's the best comeback you got? People telling you what to do it's called LAWS. Like speed limits, stop signs, sticking a cancer stick in your mouth. They make these laws so you dumbazzes won't kill yourselves and everyone around you because you're too stupid to make rational choices.

I know I just went way over your head so you don't have to reply.

Yes the dine in industry will always be fine but in all honesty there's only a few bars still alive in evansville every small corner bar pretty much went under...its a choice to smoke and its a choice to enter a bar don't like the smoke don't go to that bar its that simple...bar owners lost the business of many smokers in town while the liquor stores now get their business...but its ok for the casino to still allow smoking...either ban it everywhere or not at all

It will be banned everywhere soon enough. You see smokers have the right to go outside and smoke that way they get what they want and the people who don't want to smell/inhale smoke don't have too. Everyone gets what they want.

There were non smoking bars before the ban so the non smokers could go there I respect the fact that non smokers don't want to be around it but how would you feel if we reversed the roles n just told the non smokers to go outside? Wouldn't like it very much...its not going to change though so its a pointless debate..no county that has established a smoking ban has retracted it yet...just would be nice that when regulations are established that the city doesn't pick and choose who it is and isn't good for a la the casino

It is a pointless debate because the majority says smoking is not acceptable in public places.

So ban it in public places. But if a bar owner chooses to make their establishment a private club/bar like the VFW, Eagles, Owls, and such it should be the owners decision if they allow smoking or not!

I agree. But remember not a lot of people smoke and to open/ operate a private club/bar cost a lot of money The fees and drink prices would be out of control.
