Are more corrupt people going to be elected? Your town is well known for giving out unwarranted speeding tickets to out of towners. Can't your town find another way to make money other than stealing?

Society Hill is a great town. However, should you drive through Florence,Hartsville,or even a big anywhere, and was speeding, you probable would also get a speeding ticket if an officer saw you. So what if Society Hill has name for speeding tickets. What town does not? Is it because we are small and are just singled out more? Or,is it because those who are speeding or breaking the law, just don't want a ticket? Grant it, I surly do not. I am not perfect but I respect our law enforcement. The facts are simple. Obey the law, or pay the price. They police there or anywhere else for that matter, are just doing their jobs. Yes,the town has had some setbacks recently, but what town hasn't. If anyone is perfect, then you may cast a stone at others, but who are we to judge those council members, and even the former mayor; when we do not know the true issue. I would like to suggest to anyone who is quick to be critical of any town, not just Society Hill; and that is to look in the mirror each day and remember the face looking back is not without faults either.I do not feel it is fair to say that Society Hill will continue to have corrupt people on council. The new mayor we have now will be a good one and the new council members now will have to pick up the pieces from before. But,it take guts to try to make a town a better place for the community and those who live there. So before you judge Society Hill, Maybe one should look in their own backyard first. From my previous post above.. In addition to previous post. As far as the "out of towner's" getting speeding tickets, the sign plainly reads 35MPH. Then it picks up to 45MPH, then 55 MPH. So, unless an out of towner cannot read the signs, then he/she should not be driving in the first place. Safety first. And Hwy. 52 is not the safest road to travel. So what does it hurt to take a little caution. If the town makes money on a speeding ticket, then the road will be a little safer for others. I do not want to die in a car wreck just because someone gets in a hurry to get somewhere. Do you?
