So far, the biggest complaints I've heard about Noak are unnamed instances where he supposedly rubbed someone the wrong way. Well, that's a very one-sided opinion given that we have no frame of reference to work off of. How do I know you weren't acting all crazy at a town hall meeting or a board meeting and being difficult, and that's why he was flippant. I've been to meetings like that where people seem to bottle up all their emotion over YEARS of not being happy about something, then unload it at the one meeting they actually attend in their lifetime.

Again, unless you can give clear, concise explanations on why or how he offended you or why he is a bad guy, then it makes it very hard for anyone to take you seriously and consider you anything but an internet troll. One line opinions are completely useless to anyone else reading this forum.

onehundred, this is great name or should I say number of people voting for John on April 9.
Paranoia starting to take over, is it??? First , residents welcome Steve with open arms and are happy to proudly display support for him. Guess not all of them are easily bullied by John and willing to stand up for what they believe. Number of signs speaks for itself. Second, McMichael will speak about his vision for greater Romeoville. I'm more than confident they will like what they hear. Everyone going to a polling place on April 9 will have plenty of time to make their decision.

What happened? Where were all your legions of supporters last night? Were you the only one that spoke against the project - that seems to be the case. It looks like the Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously voted for the project. What happened I thought Carl was your guy?

do any of you realize we are 14th municipality in Illinois(soon to be in top 10) and number one in Will County in terms of debt? our outstanding obligations are over $118 million in principal only. when you add a interest( additional $105 million) our debt outstanding is over $222 million. those numbers are from April 2012 and just to put them into context and make them relevant: total corporate bonds in April 2007( last year for mayor Dewald) we owe just over $32 million, total corporate bonds in April 2012( hopefully last year for mayor Noak) we owe just over $82 million. You do your own math.

Thank you case wide open. There have also been multiple articles in the Chicago Tribune to support this as well as shed light on what happens when things like this athletic center fail.

Enjoy your taxes in 5-10 years folks.

And before someone retaliates with , "It's TIF funds!" maybe you should look into the structure of the financing. The TIF won't prevent the fallout once everyone realizes that this thing is not going to generate any revenue, nor additional people to attract a grocery store.

Probably be cheaper for the village to build and subsidize a grocery store.

You are so off base. First you don't take into account all the growth the village has experience of the years and all the infrastructure needs that come along with that growth. What would you have the village do just have everything fall apart until they saved up all the money. Wow we wouldn't have anything working by then.
You are sooooo clueless. All the village's debt has a revenue stream attached that is dedicate to pay for it. Also, virtually all the new debt after DEWALD was put in motion by DEWALD. The bond issue you are referring to was well underway before Fred left office. It would have happened either way. OH and by the way where were you when all that was happening? That's right NO WHERE. In fact, no one spoke against it.
The reality is Romeoville is one of the fastest growing communities in the ENTIRE state and one of the largest so it is not a surprise that it would be among the top of your list. In order to provide the services and infrastructure needed the village must fiance it. Just like buying a house.
It is also important to note that the village's debt ratio is UNDER the recommended level.
Why don't you share the village's bonding rating review? Oh that's right because it completely counters your view. The bond companies actually raised the village's bond rating over the past few years, because of "good fiscal management". Anyone can look this up. That was at the same time the state and the federal governments went down.

You keep trying to twist the facts. Why then did only one of Mongo's campaign helpers and a worker at the restaurant speak up last night?

The articles you speak refer to projects that were no where nearly as well planned as this one is. Its time you faced the facts the project is fully funded. No one in their right mind disagrees. Watch meeting from last night it is FULLY explained. You keep trying to scare people on some far fetched notion that some how a guaranteed funding stream is some how going to disappear. Since it didn't disappear during the greatest recession almost all of our lifetimes I doubt it will over the next decade either. Which is all it will take to pay off the project. The income from the site itself isn't even a concern.

These are browser issues. I have had comments for Noak not show up as well. Try deleting cookies and refresh your browser. Quit pulling a Limbaugh and spouting conspiracy theories. Pretty sad that Mongos side has stooped this low.

This is nonsense:

"Why don't you share the village's bonding rating review? Oh that's right because it completely counters your view. That was at the same time the state and the federal governments went down."

The village gets its bond rating increased by buying bond insurance on the debt it issues. That does not reflect the financial health of the village.

Bond insurance is a common practice amongst all local level bond issuers. That has nothing to do with the rating agencies review of the rating. Nice try. Now why again won't Mongo debate?

I just watched this weeks meeting and was mad John would not allow the guy from Illinois American Water to finish his statement. Sounded interesting especially when was talking about the Village spending money friverously on a potential lawsuit. If he is going to limit others, he and the other Board members should limit their comments but I guess it's election time.....isn't it? 2 other things, I heard a silver Ford Escape was driving around taking pictures of "other" candidates sign? What is that. Another thing he pays teens to pick up other candidates signs. This is a real shame and petty. How much has been spent to date and when is there another fund raiser for John or Mongo?
