Lisle, Navistar can't be trusted

The recent articles about the Alcatel-Lucent tax appeal for the property being sold to Navistar show once again that Navistar and Lisle officials cannot be trusted.

Do you really want to chase away a multi-billion dollar company in the middle of a recession? Don't you want to replace the 7000 jobs that have left because of Lucents problems? How much farther do you want your homes value to fall? Detroit didn't have a choice in thier economic problems i.e. Auto sales. You have homes there with less then zero value. Navistar is strong in defense sales and the stock is healthy. Do you want Navistar to take thousands of more professional jobs someplace else? Do you want to kill DuPage counties economy? Of course Lucent wants to lower the property taxes on a property that is now worth less. You know Navistar wants to put 100 million dollars of improvements into the site. The property could be re-assessed at a much higher value after the improvemnts. Financial health is about GNP we are talking about GCWP here, Gross County Wide Product. That is the amount of Money that flows through our reginal economy. Hurt that and you will hurt the financial health of every houshold in DuPage including mine. Stop doing that. We all want to send our kids to good schools, keep our homes, and buy food. Think before you kill the Golden Goose.

Navistar just announced another mass layoff
178 people to be let go June 2010. this make about 4000 layoff in the past 18 months...

there are no 7000 jobs.
lucent never had 7000 jobs.
the property is not big enough.

look what Nav did to Indy. empty promises - take taxpayers dollars - disappear.
