Really? Dirtiest police force you have ever seen? Where do you live now, Mayberry? I have never seen the RPD in any "real" newspaper with stories of corruption, police abuse, or wrongful shootings...
Because something supposedly happened to you many years ago, doesn't make them dirty.
The only place you hear or see bad things about the RPD is on this troll infested website.

I didn't file a lawsuit because after consulting an attorney, the amount that could be awarded was minimal compared to the harrasement I would recieve. The dog lived with minimal veterinary care , the bullet slide along the side his skull and lodged into the bottom jaw muscle only requiring a laceration and removing the round. The attorney informed me that all an officer has to do is say he felt threatened and the shooting was justified. Tresspassing was not an option because they claim to have business there (vacation check). All in all it wasn't worth the headache to battle the big bad rpd as I'd recieved petty violations after request for the reports of this incident ( blocking sidewalk , parking to far from curb, etc).

Awe Tony, been arrested a few times huh? But, I'm sure it was all lies and the big bad cops (again, who have never been charged, indicted, or even investigated for wrong doing, like lying on reports) framed you somehow because they don't have anything better to do

LOL you guys are so funny. If you stay within the law and don't try to be a bad boy, you don't have trouble with the police. So simple for most people but others like yourself can't seem to grasp the concept. And your "friend's" story about his pit COWERING on the porch while the police approached is laughable. Pits don't cower. However... IF he really has witnesses and if they tell the same story he told he should have sued. He could find a lawyer that will only take a third after the case is settled not retainer and no obligation unless there's a payoff.

As I said before , I consulted a few attorneys who all said there wasn't much to gain but a headache. Cowering was what my nieghbor who witnessed put in his
statement to police as I've already said I was inside and didn't witness it. They only knocked on my door to alert me that my dog was shot not anytime before. I was really wondering why I didnt have the right to read the officers statements (all blacked out with marker) I thought police reports were public record not in the ville. And yes if I searched around more I could have found a hungry attorney who would have taken the case but I was already being harrased and knew I had to live there. And no I've never been in trouble nor have I since so all this garbage about ppl having grudges because they were arrested is b.s.

Well my point is this... I know you didn't have a case. But I said if your story is 100% accurate. Which it isn't and can't be without the officer's side of it. I've heard many of the same kinds of stories always people like you claiming to being harrassed while they themselve's are innocent of any wrong. But when you hear both sides of the story most of the time you find out that they are provoking the officers, which then in turn allows them to whine about being harrassed.

Also Pits are dangerous animals, maybe not all but too many. I don't blame the officers for taking the shot. Cowering??? LOL

By the way procedure would be to knock on the door after the animal was under control. The reason for that is because many owners think it's funny to sic their dog on the police. Like it or not Pit Bulls and pit bull owners have a stigma. Maybe it's not fair but the stats back it up. Get a lab or a golden retriever and the chances of your dog getting shot by the cops would decrease immensely.

Reading this cracks me up.How about the chicago police who tryed to cover up that 220 lb cop who beat the piss out of a 5 ft girl in the bar, if it wasnt for the video tape he would have got away with it because the force was trying to cover it up!!!! REMEMBER they all have there backs.

Maybe I read it wrong but wasn't this forum about RPD shorting a dog. I guess posting about my dog being shot by rpd as well wasn't following "procedure" as you say. Im glad you educated me on the procedure the police follow when they come into your yard and shoot your dog. Thank you sir

I'd better correct my spelling (shooting not shorting) before Happy Dad has another reason to believe I shouldn't be allowed to post on this forum.

LOL no.. I'm the king of typos and misspellings. I never said you can't post. You can post anything you want. I'm just saying you're side of the story is only one side. And to be fair we should hear both sides. Court would have been an excellent place to air that. It's been long enough now that I think you need to let it rest or seek counseling. LOL and take some pills or something man you take yourself way too serious.

Wow after all your statistics about dog fatalities this is what you got. Your like the little dork in school standing behind the bully saying look guys hes crying , how lame. I will have to say though that I'm not one of those pittie people and do agree that they are more dangerous than other breeds. This comes from years of being around the breed that is way overbreed and breed by people who shouldn't be breeding dogs. Look at the animal shelters 80% pitbulls. So say what you want to yum yum or are you going to wait for the other guy to speak and then chime in.

See this attitude right here is what I meant. You my friend is well capable of provoking the police. I lived in Romeoville for over 20 years and never had proplems with the police. Of course I wasn't going around looking for reasons either. You my friend are a self fulfulling prophet. You piss people off and then say, "see I told you they was mean". Wipe your nose and stop whining, at this point I'm starting to doubt anything that you have posted. You're just a TROLL and a good story teller.

hahaha! Say what? What do you want me to do accuse you of being a cop killer? Do you want me to say that I think you have the dog because you want them to attack the police? Give me a break. You call me names and then turn around and admit that you know the breed is dangerous. That's why you didn't file a lawsuit. You know it's possible that you little pet may have been threatening. So give it up cry baby. Your dog had it coming.
