Hey anyone notice Since the big O took office the price of gas has gone from $2.65 per gallon to $4.15. I realize He doesn't have to buy the gas for 6 mile to the gallon car(s) that spirit he the family around the globe on any number of junkets, but, I do have to pay. Just filled up today $86 big ones. Same car same gas cost me $55 to fill up 2 years ago for a Difference of $31 per tank for the math challenged. Want to know why the economy is going nowhere look no further than that.
If George W was in office there would be riots in the streets over this and outrage how his cronies were lining there pockets.
Who's to blame now? After two and a half years, the Presidents policies are an abysmal failure and this miserable economy is in his lap. Lets look at the numbers Unemployment still at 10%, housing values still falling, Gas prices still GOING UP, Cost for food steadily rising the list goes on and on. Hey not to mention all the other failings ...But, you did commit to the Brazilian President that we, the US, would give billions for oil research for his country. Great call! We have huge oil reserves here in the good ole USA lets go drill for it start in alaska, montana, idaho or indiana who cares? JUST DO SOMETHING president O can't blame anyone else anymore This is his problem and he has done nothing to solve it.
Hey he had some nice trips overseas though, hows that foreign policy thing working out ? Thats for another blog post

And have you noticed the massive civil unrest in the Middle East that caused the spike in oil prices Einstein? I'm surprise you're not blaming Obama for the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami, too.

Oh and where was all your bitching and moaning about gas prices the January BEFORE Obama got elected? Prices were even higher then and Bush didn't have civil unrest in the Middle East to blame it on, just his own bungling of the economy. But wait, I forgot, Bush was a white guy and a Republican so that doesn't count in your world.

Oh and the current U.S. unemployment rate is actually 8.8% not 10%.

As for the housing market: Yes, prices are still down but so far single family home starts have increased above 2011 expectations. Still not great but not quite the doom and gloom you're trying to sell here.

Oh and here is the link that calls BS on your Brazil story - http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/brazi...

Maybe you should turn off the talk radio for awhile and try listening to some actual news for a change. You would be surprised to learn what is really going on in the world.

We should be privileged to pay $20.00/gallon...how else are we gonna help pay for that 1 Billions reelection campaign?
Please stop

OMG you are right. We should impeach Obama because he controls the gas prices..... Oh wait nvm.

The places we obtain most our oil are currently embattled in civil wars. I didn't vote for Obama and won't again next election. But I also take pride in being an informed voter. Please people like you give other GOP members a bad name.

Try paying almost 10$ a gallon in Europe.

Thing I learned during the Bush Administration #412: The President has 100% complete control over gas prices and the economy.

Thing I learned during the Obama Administration #87: The President has absolutely NO control over gas prices and the economy.

I would like to see where the bush administration had control over the gas prices. I personally would say oil execs and the media. Media says prices are going to go up and poof false inflation.

@cct
Sure there has been unrest there for centuries. but when is the last time almost all of the major oil producing countries were in some sort of civil war?

Libya is one of the BIGGEST exporters of oil to the US. It is currently in shambles.

I was wrong! I admit it.

But I still don't see any proof that the president of the untied states controls the gas prices.

Uh… not like this Einstein.

Mubarak has been in power since Carter was president.

Kaddaffi has been in power since Nixon was president.

It's an upheaval like the Middle East and the World has never seen before. No one saw it coming and nobody knows how it's going to end up. We're talking about the possibility of free elections in countries that never had them before, so naturally the oil markets are going to go nuts. They don't do well trying to factor in the unknown.

In the past 40 years gas has gone from 30 cents to it's current price. The USA has had several President's during that time. What did they do about it? Nothing except try to educate the public on the importance of using less gas by buying smaller cars. No one listened.

Yo boo hoo hoo. You's all blame it on Obama. Every thing that goes wrong, you blame it on Obama. You are all idiots. Bushy boy ruined every business his dadio put him in charge of and he ran it into the ground as he's done it with our GREAT NATION. Except the United States can't just say to the stock holders that it's over. We can't claim bankruptsy. We have to fix it and Obama keeps fighting off those a--hole republicans that claim "THEY KNOW HOW TO FIX ALL THIS MESS" Well where were all you smart a--ses the past 8 years of Bushy Boy's Circus? I"ll tell you where you's were: You's were chewing all the reserve fat that Clinton put us in like "0" dollars of debt! All you a--holes did was vote the idiot in again! Did all of you's forget about Enron? Remember they knocked on the White house doors wanting buddy Bush to raise the interest rates so it wouldn't collapse. The problem there was there was no money in it for Bushy boy and the chance of getting caught in a lie would mean curtains for him. Hell it's easeir to make a lie about weapons of mass distruction and blow 9 billion dollars and mame or kill 5000 of our soldiers all on a lie! Remember when Bushy Boy's financial aid said we were all imagining this and we were cry babies? Bush said "he wouldn't call it a recession". Then WTF is it dumb a--? I bet you forgot that you fat a-- bastards. Oh by the way, that idiot resigned unexpectedly weeks after that comment...why because it was a lie obviousley. Look around listen to you own comments ..gee it really wasn't our imagination...da.

As far as the gas, well speculation has a lot to do with it people and that start on Wall Street....[Problems in the middle east,] oh I'm a profesional speculator and this "COULD" cause the price of oil to go up...quick all you greedy a-- traders raise the price of crude. Gas was high during the Bushy boy era too, I have video proof of it. I made a video for my keeping every time Speedway, shell, and others here in town all fed off each other. If one raised it they all did. Remember decent prices up until say,...the saturday before mothers day then goes up 20 cents, then goes down 16 cents the following monday morning. Watch you'll see. The same will go for Memorial day too. Not all towns charged the same too. So go stick your pompas head up the elephants a-ss to get a good reflection/definition of what a republican is.For all you other idiots you's all better get off you a--es too and vote to make sure those financial experts (as the republicans call themselves) don't get back in cuz if you don't our middle class will be extinct!

Kerry your way off the mark. Obama is the hardest working President this country has ever had. Too bad he has to work even harder to go backwards for the Republican financial experts whom put us here to begin with.

Take a look at this chart of gas prices over the past 6 years.

In this chart you can also choose to compare Canadian gas prices vs US gas prices.

Holy similarities batman. The Canadian gas prices go up and down very similarly to the US prices. Well I guess that US president also controls Canada's gas prices.

OPEC controls gas prices. Our president controls the value of our dollar which buys that gas.

Well actually there a lot of factors that control the value of the dollar. And the president cannot change the price of the dollar.

But what I was pointing out that the fluctuations of gas prices are similar world wide. Doesn't matter the currency use to purchase said gas.
