It is a shame that in this day and age that young college men would be so stupid to have unprotected sex with a women who is offering sex to anyone who wants it. My heart goes out to them and I pray that all of them get tested and come out okay. As for Ms. Floyd she should get the book thrown at her by our judical system for her lack of care and concern. I hope that this is a learning experience for all involved. I hope that people all across the world realize that it is up to us to protect ourselves and not leave it up to anyone......I just hope that some one learned from this. Get tested please don't let shame kill you.

This situation obviously sucks!...but to make a positive out of it... one needs to step up, who had sexual contact with her, and be an example. Stand up for what they did, get tested and talk about it openly. Godbless

How come the news always comes to cheyney university when something bad happens and the media is quick to come but when something great happens no one wants to come then? Its sad to see that everyone is focused on this issue. But, no one can tell if they have HIV yet. A person can't tell until a couple months later after the samples are drawn.

For one cheyeny is a well respected school and everytime someone does a great deed it is well respected and something like this need to be brought to the public. What this chick has done needs to be all over the world so that this can never happen to anyone else or to another university. Something like this can hurt the schools name and make all high school students turn there back on cheyney university, so you should be happy that this is in the public eyes.

cheyney university is an great school and im an proud student and no matter what the media says about this school .I will still be dam happy to gradute but I will give back to the students and tell them this issue about aids can happen anywhere and don't believe think that the whole campus has aids because even men that are gay or women that are bi sexual can get aids too. So always practice safe sex or don't have sex at all and save it until you are married. In life you make your own choices they can be bad or good but you learn from them. media is so quick to come here for something bad happens or even when they kept coming last week and no would talk because the media is all up in our business and the wont
talk about the postive things for exapmle a student from cheyney wrote her own book and is publsied and last year we raised money for Katrina victims and we collect clothes for homeless ever year. We help feed homeless on thanksgving. Also, we help children in afterschool programs suchas:homework and talk to them about colloege. The NAACP has their own chapter now. So there is many postive things that happen but no one cares about it.

Im an proud student of cheyney and the issue that hs been talked about is crazy but, everyone will talk about that the whole school has it but, thats not true because the whole campus didnt sleep with the women ans the news is making it like the whole school has aids. The media has been uo here all week they will never leave us alone. No one will talk to the media We have no comment. But, Cheyney has postive things that happen for example a student from cheyney has their own book published and we have clothes drive for homeless every year. Also,we help afterschool programs so students can help with their homework. We raised money for katria victims. There is much more things that are postive things that happen but, the media won't care at all. We aren't ghetto or non educated we are educated and there are some students that don't go to class but thats everywhere.....look at many other colleges too. Many other colleeges have issues with sane problems....no one wants to talk about that.

It's okay but they were here all last week trying to get an another story . They wont leavee us alone we have no comment for the meedia. Also, people make their own choices everyday and they might be an good choice or an bad one but they learn from it. These issues happen everywhere at other ccamous too. If parents would ask their child what they did at college they would be surprised because, everyone makes mistakes but dont judge the whole campus. Everyone is looking on the outside of the box insteed of looking in. Until people look inside the box they won't understand anyhing. We are not ghetto as peopl think we are educated.......I will always say it loud and proud GO CHEYNEY WOLVES!!!!!!!!

I am a graduate of Cheyney and I must say I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. I can remember when I was there, there were shootings, fights. Looks like things haven't changed.

Unfortunately my dear, Cheyney has had a bad rep for YEARS. I graduated in 1984. There was a shooting. All the TV stations came on campus. We had a big campus meeting to "not to speak to the media" When the TV crews came up, folks were clowning in the background when the reporter would do their story. A total MESS.

Judging from the above paragraph (!?!) it looks like the school and some of the students have a looooooooooooooooooong way to go and that this HIV prostitute may be the "least" of the Universitys problems.

Does the football team still stink?

Seeing that you've called yourself DUH,Don't try and bash folks. Cheyney does have a lot of positive things going on. The school just gets a bad rap.

Where do YOU attend school?

I agree with the last post. There are plenty of positive things at Cheyney. Such as the results of 10 recent AIDS tests.

The four-year graduation rates at Cheyney, based on students who started in fall 2001, are 9.6 percent,(Less than 10 of every 100)far below the 31.3 percent average for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

The school reported a $2.16 million deficit last year, and its Athletic Director and his assistant were placed on administrative leave last month, and it is searching for a new President.

Got any positives from that?

Got a suggestion for the folks in Harrisburg:
Shut that place down. I got some good things you could do with my tax dollars.

This story goes to show you what goes on everywhere, not just at our colleges .The bad thing about this is that it makes both parties look bad, and degrading to black people, because america already thinks its a black thing to have aids.
Im sorry for the lady and all the men that have been infected, sometimes you just have to learn the hardway after being told over and over to wear condoms. there is a saying "play with fire and eventually you will be burned"
