Sorry, don't know what 'rescue types' you're talking about. I've done rescue work for well over 20 years, emptied my bank account for vet bills, fencing, food and medicine. My family has spent hours talking to folks about rehoming and what is required with a previously abused animal. To my knowledge, none of my rescues have ever been put down, other than for health problems that couldn't be rectified. Cute and cuddly? Nothing cute or cuddly about the filthy, infected mostly feral kitties from the local cat lady's house, or the litter of pups anemic from all the fleas they are infested with.

And I'm far, FAR from the only one out here doing this....and I've never taken a cent from you or anyone else that hasn't handed it to me of their own free will. I've never asked.

<quoted text>Sorry, sweetie. not biting off your head. Hate the rescue types. All concerned with cute and cuddly, but when it comes to proper care they fall short. They routinely put down cats and dogs here that they confiscate for fleas. Then beg for money for the good work they do. A scam.
Just saying that if they knew he was stoned, they should have properly and thoroughly examined him, and if there were signs of something serious he should have had 24 hour observation and best treatment, or just put him down right away. Yelling at THEM, lol.
I know you do birds, and if a bird has even a slight head trauma they can look fine and just drop dead because of the nature of their bones and vascular tissue in their brains. Snakes don't usually even look siuck until just before they die, and they often die in a normal pose like they were just crawling along and died. Not so with cats, a good vet would probably have detected something.

Yeah.....if this can be considered luck, you're right. I have seen worse. MUCH worse. Man's inhumanity towards the helpless, 2 legged or 4, stuns me daily.

I do know what you're saying is true, I just hate intentionally cruel humans. I mean, why can't I abuse and torture the people that I deem as needing it? I'd be fair, really!;^D

absolutely.....it's not about the cat, it's about the cruelty and whether or not these actions are warning signs of a dismal future for the perpetrator of such a disgusting and cruel act. i'm sure they're capable of much, much more than this.

Amen to that! My friend's father is a retired homicide detective. He has assured us that the majority of cases he's been on were perpetrated by people who started by torturing/killing animals.
