Drunk drivers should be pulled from their vehicles and executed.
OH YOU ARE A COP??? You want to be judge juror and executioner huh? I hope next time you break the law and endanger someone, that someone does that to you.

And no, I have never driven drunk, but what you propose is ignorant and evil!!!!

My sister didn't have her seatbelt on, but we have been told that the first time the car overturned, it hit the guard rail exactly where she was sitting-they were in a convertible, which offered very little protection. She was killed instantly-before she was ejected. A seat belt would not have saved her life.

actually ohio revised code 4511.19 states "operating vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs-OVI."

i am sorry for your loss and i know this will sound insensitive but please learn from your sisters mistake. in THIS case a seatbelt would not have saved her life but in many others it would have. and NOT getting into the car with a driver who had been drinking WOULD have saved her life. hopefully no one who knew her will ever make the same mistake and cause others to feel the pain you do now.

well folks...thats what happens when you get in the car with a drunk (including if that drunk is you) and dont wear your seatbelt. it sucks when lessons must be learned the hard way but a 41 yr old should have known better. i can hear the posts now though...."ain't nobody gonna tell ME that i have to wear a seatbelt!" and "if i want to risk my life, it's none of the state's business!" then don't sue.
Do you not have a shred of decency? Or is it that you are so overblown with self-importance that you have to spew your vile thoughts. Angie was my cousin. My family is heartbroken and trying to deal with this the best way we can. Blaming the victim is so wrong and hurtful. If, God forbid, this happened to you would you want someone telling your family that you were a person who "should have known better" and therefore deserved to die? Regardless of the situation, we are an entire family that is grieving. Please, have some respect.

Family member of Angie... you have my condolences.

The article said NOTHING about Sapp texting while driving... it also said NOTHING about whether she was or was not injured. It only said she was the ONLY one wearing a seatbelt. This being a convertible, it's surprising all weren't killed.

My previous posts were concerning the terminology attatched to impaired driving and the fact bar owners (at least in MN) are held liable for alcohol related deaths involving customers after leaving their bar. It is always a sad situation. But blame and name-calling are uncalled for.

I'm sorry this had to happen to your sister and family. I have two nephews who died in separate accidents. The were passengers of a drunk driver too.

I plead with my friends and family that when they're drinking to call me for a ride home...no matter what time.

The people that actually get caught for OMVI are lucky...that moment they could have just as easily killed someone.

<quoted text>OVI=Operating vehicle Impaired. This can include a medical condition, or something just as dangerous-LACK OF SLEEP! I know! I work 3rd shift weekends, 12 hours. I get up Sunday at 4p.m., go put in 12, go home. If friends want rides for errands and I stay up, by 3p.m. I'm nodding off-NOT SAFE! So I turn the wheel over to someone whom hasn't worked all night. DUI=Driving under influence! This can be alcohol or drugs or medicines! Just as dangerous. Use some common sense when driving under these conditions!!!
the legal term DUI is not used any more in the state of ohio. there is only OVI. people, media included, still use DUI for some reason. Operating a Vehicle while Impaired is used because of certain drug usage has set limits just like alcohol. "Driving" was removed since people charged with "physical control" technically aren't driving. you cannot be charged with OVI for being sleepy. just anf FYI.
