My prayers go out to his family ! I wonder why nothing was mention about the alarm sounding off.Or wasn't it working, I know by LAW they are suppose to be there and in good working order.

Could have been working properly but he wasn't able to hear it because of the noise that the chain saw prevented him from hearing it.

My sincerest sympathy to the family.

As far as the Dispatch is concerned, was he wearing his seat belt?
sorry about it also

And his helmet? Gotta have that too. This is not meant as an insult to the poor man who lost his life. It is a dig at the news media who always use accidents to indoctrinate us all.

I don't think anyone meant to harm anyone. It was just that a horrible accident.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family as well as the the guy that was in the machine that had backed over him. He to must also be going through his own hell.

This is so tragic for the man's wife and children. It's odd the story doesn't mention the other person operating the equipment that killed the man. It sounds like there are a lot of other questions that need to be answered.

We are so sorry to read of this needless death. We knew the young man and saw him at a softball game this past Tuesday! Our thoughts and prayers will be with the wife and children--and his other family as well! The Danville community is a close community and I know they will reach out to the family, too!

I believe the correct phrase is "CAREFUL with that track hoe, Eugene."

No where does the article mention another person operating the backhoe. How do you know this? I assumed the backhoe was on the side of the road & slipped into gear or had some other system failure causing it to move. An unfortunate accident no matter the reason. My sympathies & prayers to his family & friends.

Where was the Supervisor when this happened? Who was responsible for the equipment that killed him?

This is a horrible tragedy and is unfortunately a common problem, as equipment operators cannot always see all the way around their equipment and possibly this deceased man could not hear the equipment in time with a chain saw operating.

I have had many years on farm equipment and realize the dangers.

My condolences to both the equipment operator who will live with this horrible accident the rest of his life and to the family of the deceased who at a great loss and are left without a husband and a father.

Sixteen human beings lose their lives on the job EVERYDAY. Wonder how many can we chaulk up to corporate greed and avarice? Safety is optional when it comes to profits right?? george bush taught me that creedo in business school.
