I have never seen overall moral lower in a School district since Coleman became superintendant. It seems almost all staff are afraid to even do their jobs out of fear of becoming the next person on colemans chopping block. I think the board is at least going to have to do their jobs now and possibly do a vote of no confidence and show coleman the door before she single handedly destroys the whole district.I have never worked with anyone that worked as hard as Sharon or who cared more about the kids in her job as director of the YSC.Knowing Sharon she is doing this more for everyone else in the district than she is for herself. God bless her for fightng back!

Sharon is doing this for every person afraid in the Danville district. That is the kind of person she is! Something has to be done I know there are more to follow her too. I bet if they tried to pay her off she wouldnt do it! Way to go Sharon! There is so many corrupt things going on take this one for instance. Head janitor retires from the high school. The next guy in line for the job, someone who has put in over 15 years, well he was transfered to Hogsett and CARMEN COLEMANS lawn man now has the position ....I believe he has worked in the district 2 years maybe. Now he is head janitor. The kids have no respect for Ethrington. He is a liar. He will be kind to your face but dont turn around you will get that blade stuck in your back. Good luck Danville staff.

Just wanted to clear up something.

This is a Whistle Blowers Case. The plaintiff won't have to prove a thing. Once the complaint has been filed and the defendant (Ms. Coleman) has constructive knowledge of that report, then Ms. Coleman will have the burden to prove, by CLEAR AND CONVINCING EVIDENCE, that she did not retaliate against the employee. Essentially, Ms. Coleman is guilty of retaliating until she proves otherwise.

Probably and uphill battle. Sounds like Danville School Board may be negotiating a settlement soon.

I have to disagree with the posters who spoke in such glowing terms of Sharon Faul. If you speak with teachers and administrators at DHS or Bate, the inside scoop is that she was disorganized, ineffective as a leader, and unable to relate well to staff, students, or families. Her charge that race played a factor in the hiring process is ridiculous, as well as her assertion that the person selected was not qualified. The person selected for the position had held the job for 12 years, until a funding cut eliminated the position a couple of years ago. When she was cut, both the schools and families that she served were deeply disappointed. That person has continued to work in the Danville schools in other roles, and when funding again became available for a spot in the FRYSC, she was a natural fit. I hope that the Danville Schools do NOT settle, and that the truth behind Ms. Faul's lies is brought to light.

Read the article - Sharon Faul is white. You can also find a pic of her on Google Images. She only dragged race into it cuz she knew it would get the most attention.

one vote do you happen to know the credentials of that staff member whom is also teaching our middle school students on a teachers pay with no college education? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought teachers had degrees? I know the two African American women Sharon wanted to hire had degrees. Sharon Faul will not settle this quietly. She needs to be as loud as she can and maybe help the other employees not be so scared to death when we walk on the property.

Hey one vote - It's not accurate to say that the person in question has "no college education". While it is true that she does not hold a degree, she has completed a substantial amount of coursework at EKU (I'm not sure why she didn't finish). She also has extensive experience with the FRYSC (which gave her a distinct advantage over the two FRYSC candidates), as well as a proven track record of success with students, and the support of teachers, counselors, and principals. Personally, I'm a fan of her work, having witnessed the amazing things she is able to accomplish with her students. But in my opinion, this issue isn't about her. It's about Ms. Faul using false accusations of racial discrimination to paint herself as some sort of whistle-blowing hero. It just ain't so.

So it is true that she holds no degree? I sure am happy to know she has experience. Experience always holds over an educated person! I too adore her but facts are just that and not an opinion. How does someone hold her title with no degree? It's called kiss Carmen Colemans ass and you will be rewarded. The two African American women both held degrees and had exeptional experience. Im done arguing with you I proved my point. Sharon I wish you best of luck!

I didn't realize we were arguing! I thought we were having a civilized discussion about a topic of public interest. I can agree to disagree, and would be happy to congratulate you for having proved your point, if I could figure out what it was. It seems as if you have your own axe to grind with Dr. Coleman, and that Ms. Faul's lawsuit is a convenient outlet for your own frustrations. Good luck with that.

I'm just frustrated. You are right about that, have been for a couple years. Unless you work here you don't know. I think that our system is corrupt. People get jobs when they are not even qualified and the people that are qualified get crapped on. I don't have anything against Dr. Coleman. She seems like a very nice lady. I'm just not an ass kisser like most. I just sit back and watch. I am a friend of Sharon's and the last two years have been hard on her. She is an excellent role model and was great wit our children. She didn't deserve this. She is hurt and humiliated.

My son is at Bate. I really hope all of his teachers are credited. Who is the teacher? I would really like to know who you all are speaking about. Just to put my two cents in...... I loved Sharon as well and she is a great lady. She helped my child deal with a tragic event when others didn't have time for him.

This isn't about the teacher who isn't qualified for her job it's about a director who wasn't allowed to do her job efficiently. I agree with one vote Sharon was a perfect fit right where she was! My son had a horrible experience losing someone he loved deeply. Counselors didn't have time for him. You know who did? He got the love and guidance and a successful friendship with "that lady in the Beacon". The only way I knew this had happened was because the first day of school he searched for the Beacon and when he found it there was a lady on the phone who wouldn't tell him where mrs Faul or her helper was. He was so saddened to find out they were at hogsett. She just told him to come back before or after school. If that is what the new Beacon is about, well what's the use? Where's the couch so if my son doesn't feel good while he is waiting for me? Can someone please define Beacon?

I have worked closely with both Sharon and Dr Coleman. Sharon put 200% of herself into her work and her students. She truly cares.

And so does Dr Coleman. If it weren't for her, Bate would still be a sinking ship. She's made some bold and tough choices which is what a leader is supposed to do.

Both of these educators have heart. I don't believe they'I'll find that race was an issue in this at all.

I like to know who the two black women were that had put in the applications and was more qualified as Sharon is saying, I feel they should also have a case agaisnt Coleman and the school system,
