teenagers may act ok when they're with their parents, but when they go somewhere with just their friends its a different story. they try to "out-stupid" each other. my son told me about some dumb things he did there with his buddies, he thought it was funny, i didn't, and do you think he'll stop? doubt it. he just won't tell me anymore. but i know a lot of people and everyone knows him, and when i hear them say "i saw your son..." i just cringe. he's almost an adult, and i've tried to teach him right, but the pack mentality carries more weight than what i say. i apologize to anyone he may have offended.

i work at wal-mart. the kids dont bother us..and the managers are mostly men...and they give people warning before they try to get them to leave. and they dont escort people out. they call the police to do so if they dont leave willingly. and i doubt they asked them to leave. trust me, ive seen worse.

wal mart was not designed for your kids entertainment. as any retail store, it is for everyone. if you cannot find what you want, be an adult and go elsewhere. And as for the teens who play at wal mart, don't blame danville for lack of entertainment, put the blame on irresponsible adults who will pay for the kid's damages one way or another. tired of prices going up?, teach your children to respect what they may one day need. Children should be raised to respect other's rights and property.

I work at danville wal-mart and I have to say that the kids who throw eggs, silly string, spray the floors in automotive with tire shine should pay for the merchandise! I know that we have a great management team that are crack en down on this crap and I have full faith that they will get what is coming to them. If you are in the store and you see this behavior all you have to do is tell an associate or come to the service desk and tell one of the CSM's, they all have radios now and can call management in a heartbeat. Make sure you have a description of the person doing the damage!
Also something else I like is that Danville walmart is cracking down on you "five finger discounter" People don't just come up in there anymore and walk out with what ever they want at someone else's expense! There are camera's all over and some in places people don't know about, trust me they can see you anywhere you go in the building and you will get caught! I have seen them let you walk with some small item and then the next time your in and think your going to just take a few things...BAM they got you for shoplifting!! Welcome to the poky! That's what you get! WE have to pay for our stuff you should to!

Wow, it's as though you are the ammbasador to Walmart or something. Very passionate post with all the threats about the "poky" and stuff. I am sure the local cops are itching to put the cuffs on all those shoplifting thugs.(something to think about, petty theft costs a company more to prosecute the perp than to just take a hit on thefts less than $100) Stealing is wrong, but sometimes they have to look the other way. If you think I am lying, chase a petty thief out the door and tackle him and see what happens. Your good deed for your company just lost you your job. Welcome to the real world.

Is there and echo? "Stealing is wrong, but sometimes they have to look the other way." I said that already! "I have seen them let you walk with some small item..." I never said anything about chasing them out and tackle them...yea I'm not stupid...you would be in jail! No if you are caught the company is not paying anything.. YOU would go to jail that the payment. The only way I would lose my job is if they dumped the stuff and they couldn't find anything on them...then I would be in trouble. But if I saw them steal and I never take my eyes off of them and they do have something..guess what I'm pressing charges.

Don't worry, I am not that brave I have to admit. I do not plan on chasing anyone out of the store. That's why management get the big buck...to chase people and risk their jobs...I'm not.I would tell management though if I saw someone stealing! That's my paycheck they are taking!

I heard from a member of mgmt that walmart has new cameras that the employees dont even know about.
I manage retail also and theft is horrible, I sent some one to jail for $12 the other day. I dont care any more. Im so tired of theft ! I caught a 6 year old man stealing 3$ items from me the other day. I cant blame walmart.
I think if they would take one thief and Hang um on main down at the court house just like the old days we wouldnt have as many issues as we do know.

I personally can't stand wal-mart. And I can honestly say it's not the kid's that bother me. I'm around teenagers all day every day to see them act out like this is normal lol.. but It's the "adults" that get to me. The rude crude i'm better than you and drive a nicer car than you so i don't have to show you any respect ADULTS.

Then there's the whole issue of the FAT people who are to lazy to walk and take up all the wheel chairs. My grandmother who is 73 years old with arthritus of the knees was actually trying to walk and push a cart through wal-mart. She said she had waited for 35 mins for a wheelchair but still none were available. At this point i'm furious and go to the front to try and find one for her. They tell me to look in the parking lot. I take the chair to her and as i'm doing so i see a fat woman rolling by in her late 30's early 40's and i think to myself "how sad, my grandma could have fallen and seriously hurt herself because of your lazy ass". I've seen this numerous times and it's not just my grandma who's the victim i've seen many old people barely able to walk while younger people are cruising by in the chairs. It's bullshyt. These wheelchairs were made for the crippled, old and injured ... not the fat and lazy!

Well GEE. Maybe I would expect to see customers shopping for their families Christmas presents at Wal-mart! NOT full grown young men and women ducking in between clothing isles. NOT ill mannered, high scool children roaming the isles not buying anything.

i agree same shit with my late grandfather with alziemers. could never get a wheelchair becuase to many fat ass ppl were in it. my grandmother would just sit and wait even know he would wander off and sometimes with other ppls kids...he just didnt know any better. finally he caught pneumonia and god did his job. just like he did when he were here on earth.

YES!! And what is more sad is that a year or two back, they had a greeter that was handicapped and in a wheelchair. He was always helpful, friendly, and energetic. He would unload the carts while in a wheelchair. Always smiled. I always wondered what HE thought about the fat lazy people using the chairs. lol

i agree with you on this matter. i'm on oxygen but refuse to use a wheelchair because i think that there are people in worse shape then i am that might need them plus i need the exercise by walking. but it does get in my crawl to see some heavy person in one, they could use the exercise. i'm a little heavy myself because of some of the meds i'm on for my lungs cause you to gain weight but i do try and walk, but personally i've know some of the heavy people using the wheelchairs and all that is wrong with them is lead in the butt. sorry that your grandmother had to wait on a wheelchair lol, some people are just stupid and lazy!!!!!!!!

Hi. I just got on here and read all these interesting posts. I am a Danville Wal Mart associate and glad to be there working.
I work on the grocery side but I still see my share of problems.
Almost every day that I work I will find something that was opened and stolen. For example, Wed. night I found an empty case that used to hold 50 blank CD/RW discs. I often find empty pop bottles and cans, empty bags from the deli where someone ordered chicken then ate it while shopping then decided not to pay for it, and other things.
I don't have a lot of trouble with kids. Although I hate kids on heelies. They will flat knock you down. Another thing that irritates me is when kids, young and older, write on the inside of the freezer doors. If they only knew what it took to clean all those doors! I actually caught one little girl getting ready to lick a door. Gross! I caught her eye and shook my head, and she stopped. But mom was standing right there and never said a word.
And there are several rude adults that enter the store. I know I've been cussed for not having something. Even if it's out of stock, people have cussed me like it's my fault. And when I'm pulling pallets to the freezer, people will look at me and then walk right in front of me! Those heavy things are hard to stop! But they don't care. What's that teaching a child?
I also agree on the wheelchair issue. I wish they could moniter that but it's hard. I know some door greeters get upset with the people that get the chairs and don't really need them, but they can't say no.
I love it when shoplifters get caught. It's awesome to watch the security team in action. Most of the time, the shoplifters don't even know they're being watched. I know I'll never steal from Wal Mart. And my son is 13 and he won't either. Peer pressure or not, he's more scared of me then being made fun of for not joining the pack. If I caught him doing anything stupid in any store, I'd march his little ass right down to the police station myself!
Anyway, I also wanted to point out that Danville has a big beautiful park, a Bowling Alley with pool tables, a Skating Rink with Laser Tag, and a movie complex. There's plenty for these energetic children to do besides torture patrons of stores. Of course, getting a job would be an excellent first choice.
