<quoted text>Buying the newest and the best of everything when it comes out is the very reason the people in our country are going broke now. My son still has a playstation 2 and is very thankful for it. And it was bought 2nd hand about 4 years ago. You need a little lesson in thrift.
maybe you need a better paying job so your son can enjoy things other kids are? stop thinking about yourself for a change.

i am a single parent :( who is poor you got that right. But i'm thinking of doing my best for my son and his day. Some of us are not so fortunate to buy new games every time one comes out. I also have to thank you for your comment "not coming"
thanks
Get a better job then...you people who work at the same places most kids do right out of high school then bitch about "i dont make anything and i bust my ass" dont bust your ass for nothing. Their are plenty of jobs that pay 40-50k per year if your willing to do real work. Stop bitchin and start doing..

Wow you are mean. I don't recall anyone "fussing" just stating a fact. Good for you if you make that kind of money. But nobody is exempt from losing their job is this economy.

You people are so stupid. This person really wanted some good ideas for her 14 year old's birthday party. I think they sound like a good parent. And you idiots tell her to get alcohol, strippers and other ignorant stuff. I wish I could help you out but around here there is not much to do. Why not just ask your child what they would like and if it is reasonable go with that. I'm sure your child will appreciate whatever you decide. Don't pay any attention to these idiots on here. The sad thing is these people are probably serious and probably have children of their own and that's how they celebrated their children's birthdays. And people wonder why so many of our children end up the way they do. Good luck to you and happy birthday to your child.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I AGREE and IF YOU ARE A PARENT, YOU ARE A GOOD ONE! I am one of those parents seriously looking to make my 14 year old sons party a unique and fun one for him and his friends without all the immorality and raunch. He's a respectful young man with good friends who works hard at school and home and he deserves something appropriate and special. Bless you for your response of encouragement. The others need to get off line!

having sex might be fun but it's illegal kids would tell parents and then you'd have a big mess

A friend of mine gave her son the family video camera and they went to Perryville Battlefield and filmed a movie they wrote together. They had a blast editing and watching it together during the sleep over and all the parents got a kick out of their film for a week or so after.

My son is turning 14 I live in a small house and I am having 12 boys stay over night with nacho's, pizza, finger foods kids like , scary movies for them to hang out and stay up late plenty of gaming for them to share I bought silly spray cause it is harmless outside, waterballoons 200 to get wet it is not that cold yet and of course lots of miniture candy because sugar is what it is all about late night munching before they crash they are boys they still play hard and have fun as long as they have their friends that is all that counts. They will have fun no matter what they are doing listen to music eating cake and pizza being kids that is what they still are don't try to make them grow up too fast. Enjoy :)
