Don't give up hope...I've dealt with cyst on my ovaries for many, many years. Had 4 removed and been on medication for the cyst and I have 3 children so don't give up. Maybe there is something medically wrong besides cysts. Maybe your husband needs to be checked for sperm count. Good luck!

i have had cyst on my ovaries also and i was to able to have two wonderful children. the cyst eventually went away and the only time they really showed up was when i got pregnant and then they went away on there own. so you schould talk to a doctor and find out why you can't have kids they could tell you more. good luck

Dr Karon in Lexington at Saint Joseph East is great she is a ob/gyn/infertily specialist.I am 29 and have been trying for 3 years. I just I found out that I have it too after years of going to Dr Alexander who never tested. She did an ultrasound the first day in the room, moved the monitor, showed me the cysts. Immediately put me on an insulin resistant diet. Amazon sells the book, its called insulin resistant diet and its $10 and she put me on Metformin. That takes about 3 months to get right in your system. I've read it can take 6 months to one year from there. Actual Infertily treatments are $160 a visit. Most insurances do not pay. Mine does not pay for them but will pay for all PSOD treatment. She told me when you have it, you only ovulate 1-2 a year so without treatment the only way to get pregnant is to have sex everyday. A quicker way is short term birth control, which actually reduces the cysts and you'll usually ovulate in a few months (like 3 or 4 ) but you run a high risk of miscarriage. If you have a lot of other medical problems like me, you might wanna go the slow route. But it is worth the drive to Lexington to see her, she is very smart and extemely knowledgeable on the condition and other associated conditions: increased hormones. Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Insulin Resistance. There are so many related conditions or symptoms you may have caused by this. She also has her own website: www.karonmd.com . I wish you luck and a little angel soon!

Adoption is a wonderful thing! I tried for 10+ years to get pregnant and never did. Doctors said it would take a miracle. I now have two children (that I adopted) and wouldn't change my life for anything! Don't give up. There is always a way to have children (biological or orphaned)!

I'm also 30 and have been trying the last 3 years. We've also had 3 miscarriages. After the last m/c they found out I have a blood clotting disorder that causes miscarriages and started me on treatment. I went to Glover/Alexanders office for about a year and a half working with clomid before they referred me to Dr Akin in Lexington. He's good :)

I was told i have mulitple cysts on my ovaries and that i would never be able to have any kids..about a year after I was told that i got pregnant so don't believe that...doctors are not always right. Get a second opinion. If you stress over it you will not get pregnant. One of my friends wanted a baby and tried for 5 years and never got preg. they gave up and they got pregnant so don't stress over it and it will happen..good luck. I wish you the best!!

I dealt with the same thing ... trying and trying to get pregnant. My husband and I tried for almost 5 years. Dr. Alexander in Danville is the one that suggested I take birth control pills for a while. I took them for about 6 months. I missed 2 pills and said to hell with it. 4 weeks later I found out I was pregnant with my son (who is now 4 years old). When he was 2 my husband and I decided to try again. I took the birth control pills for 6 months then stopped. 2 months later I found out I was pregnant again!

I personally DID NOT like Dr. Akin! If I had a question regardind my treatment, it was like I was insulting his intelligence if I asked that question!~ who needs that? Infertility is stressful enough without having an arrogant Dr. On the other hand....His nurse Gayle is an awesome person!
