Hogsett is fantastic. My son has never had a problem there. The teachers and pricipal, heck all the staff I have met is just awesome.

Boyle co is a good system with the exception of Junctioncity Elem. I had a bad experiance with my son there. My kids have done better now that they are away from Junctioncity Elem.

All the elementary schools are about the same and all pretty equal, none really better than the others.(you can check out details such as teacher/student ratio, test scores, etc online) You really don't need to worry until your children get to high school because this is where you will have issues. These 2 schools in Danville are all about "title town" and football. Just notice the money spent on their football programs/fields, etc. Just hope that by the time your kids get to high school they will either play football or be in the right "click" ..otherwise I'd advise you to move. This little "town of firsts" is a joke.

If I wasn't a God fearing, God loving woman I would really tell you off. My son is an awesome child and makes straight A's, he attends Hogsett. It is an great school with caring teachers that go the extra mile. My son has many friends that attend Hogsett and they are not "BAD KIDS".
Besides there are no "BAD KIDS". Bad parents, bad circumstances but kids are not bad.

The principal at Jennie Rogers is a poor excuse for a person in a leadership position. I would stay far away from that place!

"Lord forgive me for I gave in to temptation".
Maybe if you had went to Hogsett you might know how to spell it. And it is the Montessori. And you said don't take then, I suppose you meant them. Hummm I rest my case and will now step off my soapbox. You called my sweet baby and the other children at these schools bad kids and it made me angry.

I recommend Toliver.. but whoever said Danville has been dropping the ball on education, i agree with you. As bad as i hate to admit it (imma DHS graduate) but the facts dont lie. BCHS has had the highest CATS scores for the past 3 years now. But i think at Danville schools you get a wider range of diversity and I as a parent believe that exposure to diversity is important.

Toliver is the best. Just check out their CATS scores for last year. They have an awesome staff and the principal is the greatest. They are the only school with uniforms and most parents love it because you don't have to stress over what you kids are going to wear to school. They also have a "uniform closet" for families that need assistance with uniforms.

My child went to JC elem. and then on to Boyle Middle and Boyle High school. Junction City Elem. is by far the best elem. school around. They have the most considerate teachers and are not given credit for the work they do. My daughter did not have any trouble in JC elem and then when she got to the middle school and high school that's when the trouble began. No one needs to say that JC elem. is a bad school. It's so far better that Woodlawn. All they have are teachers trying to look "pretty" more than teaching the kids. JC elem. is the No. 1 school in my book.

Actually, a lot of you all really don't know what you are talking about! Yes, the middle and high school test scores of Danville are lower than those of Boyle County, but the elementary schools' scores of Danville are right up there. Toliver has over a 100 average, Jennie Rogers is very close, and Hogsett has made great gains. Considering that there have been many stupid rumors that have made many 'well-off' parents pull their kids out of Danville schools and put them into Boyle and our scores are STILL great, I would say that Danville has the best elementary schools, hands-down. You're not going to find teachers that work harder or love their jobs more. Check the scores again in 5 years... I'd bet anything that we are above those nearby districts that have much more money than we do becuase our kids can overcome that kind of thing.
