Not impressed

United States

#1 Oct 2, 2012
Thoughts? Comments? My first impression was not good. They had run out of everything but 3 or 4 dishes but that was fine. Except that when we got our meals, it was only salad and the meat. Everything else in the entree description was missing. Didn't find out that they'd run out of all the sides until after we received our plates. And of course it was all still full price. Left hungry with an empty wallet. Won't be back.
And I realize that it's a new restaurant and they're still learning, but full disclosure that we wouldn't actually be getting what was on the menu would've been nice. And at least a discount considering we definitely didn't get what we paid for.

Did you ask for some to be taken off your bill? Sometimes you just have to speak up. The waitress maybe didn't even think to do it? I do mean this nicely because I've been on both sides on this, sometimes you just have to flat out state your displeasure and ask for it to be taken off. Especially it being new maybe the waitress had alot going on because I'm sure if they ran out of alot of things she or he was gearing given a hard time and maybe didn't think to give you a discount. Maybe wait a few weeks b4 deciding and try it again and your displeased please speak up. Bit remember your server has no control over alot do the nicer you are to you server the more she or he will try to help you out. I'f that doesnt work ask for a manager.

Well stated not Impressed. I get what your saying. But alot of people are uncomfortable in that position that is why my advise is to speak up. You clearly payed for what you didn't get. But your making a wise decision on waiting a while then trying again. Just for conversation, people complain there are not enough restaurants then complain when they start out. It does take a business a while to get kinks worked out. I applaud your attitude of trying later. But to everyone, if you don't speak up then management will not know. Be nice and polite but state your displeasure and most of the time you will get the problem taken care of. I just hope Danville gets more restaurants. It's a nightmare trying to eat at the few we have on a weekend. Plus they don't have much competion so the food and service is minimal. Go all the way to lex were there are more and the food and service is usually great. If Danville had more then the bar would be raised. But with bad reviews and downing places it can't grow. Just my opinion. Oh btw there was NOTHING racist stated in anything. I think someone just has issues with that!

I went there, and was not impressed, the owner kept yelling at the servers in front of customers, and we got there about 7 and didnt get our food until after 8 and didnt get our ticket to pay until after 9. What we did get was not that good, I got the pescara pizza and it just was not good. I will go again maybe in a couple of weeks, but as of right now I dont think so.

Just had dinner at Pescara and was not left with a very good impression. Our greeter was quick to show us a table & hand us a full menu, then proceeded to tell us that they were only serving 5 items from the regular menu. Please don't give me a full menu, then tell me I can only choose from the daily specials chaulk board. We asked for a wine/beer menu and after choosing a couple of different wines our server had to go to the bar to see what was available. Several minutes later she came back and said only one of the two we choose were available. I picked a different one and was told that wasn't available either. Finally I gave up and asked what was available. Off she went for another 10 min. and came back with a list of 5 wines out of the 10 on the list. Really? We proceeded to order a Pescara pizza and Don Vito Crepes with a side salad. The waitress asked us what time it was. I looked and it was 6:24pm. She informed us that we might not get a pizza because there is only 1 guy making pizza and they don't take orders after 6:30. Really? I told her again it was 6:24 and she better hurry and get our order in. 15 minutes go by, we notice our waitress heading to a table near us with several plates of food. Just as she reaches the table they get up to leave. They are unhappy because they have been waiting so long and leave.(And our waitress told us later they left without paying their tab for wine.) Several minutes of confusion by the wait staff occur. A few more minutes pass and "voila!" here comes our food. They added some ham and black olives to make the pizza we ordered from the abandoned pizza. Really? I would guess that this might happen at other resturants but not in front of the customers. 10 minutes after we get our food here comes our wine. Our waitress kept apologizing for her poor service. Come on guys, you've been open for 2 weeks. Lets get it together! Ok, so how's the food? The Don Vito crepe was very good albeit not as warm as it should have been. The salad was good but plain saltine crackers on the side. Really? The pizza was a really large 12", thin crust, not crispy but chewy. The homemade pizza sauce had too much oregano for our tastes. Nothing special about the ham, it was just ham. We just got back from a 2 week trip to Italy and were hoping that this would be an authentic experience or something close but they're not quite there. I really wish them luck because Danville could use some more choices. I hope others will give these folks a try, just go with an open mind and be ready for an experience.

Well considering the girls that they are using as staff there it does not surprise me. Also heard they only wanted servers and etch with experience??? From what I've read they didn't get anyone with any experience! I've not heard one good comment.
