I like CB, the eating part, that is. I do know tips are important part of the pay. I also know you need to smile, take the order promptly, check back to see if everything is ok,(drinks and etc.), it`s not a salary job you are being hired every time you go to the table! As far as mgr. and rules they will follow you to every job you have. One really important thing is a hard look at yourself, are you a people person, because every place you go there you are, if the problem is you, you will always have trouble.. Change of attitude maybe need to be you order?

I worked as a server at Cracker Barrel for 3 weeks, that was enough for me!! First of all during my training I constantley saw several female servers crying, should have been my first clue....When you interview for this job it will sound like the BEST job EVER!! Do not be fooled! My trainer was very nice to me..but after 12 hours of training I was thrown to the wolves and out on my own. You are expected in the 15 minutes before your floor shift starts to unwrap 100 napkins and roll 100 silverwares!!(150 on the weekends!) Sorry but not gonna happen!! So you get a table, within one minute of them sitting down you go out, greet your table, get their drink order AND pressure them to know their food order right away..yep..why need a menu??? You should know what you want before you walk in the door!! So then you put the order in and get their drinks. In the mean time you are being SCREAMED at to run food...you have to help run everyone elses food...so while they r being lazy in the break room you are running their food. Okay your table just got their food ... yay...you BETTER be back at that table within ONE yes ONE minute to drop off their check and say it is for their "convenience"!!!! Like youre saying "get the **** out" !! And guests look at you just like that. That is why you will not make good tips!!!!! Ok, so now you are cut from the floor, you have side-work to do... no big deal! I understand you need to do this at any restaurant!! Well i got done with my shift at 8:15 pm, had my sidework done and everything. The server responsible for checking my side-work "didnt have time" for me for 45 minutes to check my work....SO meanwhile I am getting yelled at to run food and help other servers when I am only being paid $2.13 an hour for this! One day I was stuck 2 and a half hours past my cut time helping others for $2 an hour..so unethical... so at the end of the day you have to have 4 more signatures ..manager, silverware, sidework, and tables. Just like being babysat!!! Trust me I don't mind doing work!! I have been a server for years, and have always loved it, worked with nice people, had nice customers. Not at this job...give yourself more value than to work at this establishment!!!

Wow! Really? I never wouldve guessed them being that bad. But like they say, you never know what goes on behind closed doors! I think the waiter/waitress pay is bullshiz anyway. NOBODY should b waiting hand and foot on people for $2 an hour anywhere!

Hahaha! I worked at Cracker Barrel for 2 years and this one post made me remember why I don't ever want to go back. Funny because this sounds exaggerated but it really isn't! There is A LOT of work for a little money.

Sad place, this makes a lot of sense. I went to eat there recently and I arrived later than the rest of my table. She immediately tried to take my food order as soon as I sat down. I told her I needed a few minutes and she came back in literally less than a minute. I told her I still wasn't ready and she again came back and asked again in less than a minute. She kept coming by every few minutes to ask if we needed anything, to the point where it was really annoying. I'm a server as well, so we still tipped her decently because I understand the job can be very stressful. Still managers need to know that forcing the servers to harass the customers constantly is really obnoxious, but I didn't want to complain at risk of getting the server in trouble for something that isn't her fault.

to me there would be a lot of hungary ppl if the low life bastard think i would stay over for two dollars and hour and for a matter of fact i wouldn't stay for 7.00 and so tell the damn manger to stick it up his/her as- or serve it there self and walk out the door but here what i would add i would do it right in front of the pact house of ppl setting at their tables ..

Sounds like your another high society Danville resident who thinks the world revolves around them...get a life. Food is ever rarely cold because CB's ticket times are 15 minutes...if any longer the ticket turns red and they get in big trouble. Managers have to put up with idiot customers who think they're better than everyone, so if I was them I would get tired of it too. What would you consider a better restaurant? Applebees? You'll be lucky if you get your food in a hour. And if your a girl...be prepared to be hit on by drunks and nasty old men. O'Charleys? I've never been there where the server hasn't been high. At least CB has standards.

Most servers make at least $10 an hour. I think that's pretty good for a medial job. If you want to make the big bucks go to college...if you don't want to gain in higher education...you have to put up with the "sh?t."

My opinion speaks the truth. I worked there for several years and left on a good note. There are plenty of pill heads and plenty of favorites. If u did your job right you were a favorite. Bottom line. D' is a racist cchaauvanistic asshole. Jenny is a whore and shelly is a fantastic waitress as long as she has her pills. CB is no different gossipwise than any other place intown. I hated herding my guests in and out like cattle in less than 15 minutes. I made at least $100 on weekends and $40 on a slow day. I also raised my kids on that salary so my work was my priority not gossip. I don't worry about that now because I don't work there anymore. In reality if you need a job, can work your butt off, and ignore the drama there is good mon ey to be made. If you can't make $10.00 an hour on your own merits don't blame it on cheap customers. Take responsibility for yourself or don't take a job for less than three dollars an hour. The place is clean the food is good and the managers are as fair as they can be. I would never want their job with the BS the employees throw at them. Hated runnin trays but it was great for my figure. If u don't like eating there then don't. If u don't like working there then quit. Either way you got your answers.
