Martinez man shot by deputies wanted to end life, Sheriff's Office says

A man who was shot and killed by sheriff's deputies Thursday night was prepared to end his life when he advanced on them with a knife, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said today.

Why not shoot the guy in the legs so he can no longer pursue the officer! Arent police trained on the use of aiming a firearm? He obviously needed help if he made the call himself, but instead of helping the man police just finish the job for the guy.
A very sad situation indeed.

Cops shoot to kill and that is what he did. We get paid to kill and if you dont like it then move to the moon. The guy had a small knife.
