To The Daily : Some members of the Decatur City Council still fail to understand the reason behind the smoking ban: Reducing second-hand smoke in public places allows the citizens of Decatur to live longer.

If people are forced to live their lives doing nothing more than protecting themselves from any sort of risks, it will only seem like they are living longer. Pleasure and taking chances is half the joy of a life well lived however long it may be.

You addicted nicotine addicts don't really need to worry. There is no smoking BAN, just restrictions of when and where you may get your fix. If you stop and think about it's not that big a deal. It would be useful to have something other than an opinion letter to go by here.

Plainly, all that THIS posting will offer is one more chance for bickering over basic interpretations of rights and/or the violation of rights. That horse has been kicked so hard and often not even the glue factory wants anything to do with it any more.

No ban or restrictions where I hang out although while watching the game, the owner was about to toss someone he thought was an anti-smoker. Upon questioning, he found that was not the case and all is well.

if you don't like it ..move on because rights are being violated which is a fact that you have a big problem with as a non owner of the businesses whose rights are violated. You have nothing of interest to offer anyway except to you and your buddies who are no better than common thieves..and liars
