I grew up in Dansville, however, i haven't lived there in some years now. I am going to assume that town officials have no idea that this site is up and going????? After reading every post on here-I was appauled at the things that ANYONE in the world can read about Dansville, NY. And honestly, I lost a little pride for a town that is so rich in history and full of good people. The town officials are unkowingly (i hope) letting the "bad eggs" of the town ruin any good impressions that would be tourists or residents will get of our beautifull home in the valley. Having a site to discuss topics of news and contraversy in the town is a great idea....if it is monitored. offensive material is not nessecary to get your point accross and frankly, i believe that some of the topics of discussion are of no real intrest to the town. It seems as people are using this as a way to brow beat eachother and gossip. I rave quite often about what a wonderful town Dansville is to friends where i live now....the history alone in that town is worth having pride in. A friend of mine, interested in the hisotry and current festivels etc..of Dansville, recently googled it...He came upon THIS site and lost all intrest in his visit to the Balloon Festivile. How much time i wasted convincing this person that just because it was a small town didn't mean that it's residents were "rednecks" so to speak. He was turned off immedietly and that made me wonder how many other people may read these posts and decide not to visit Dansville.......... Hopefully this site will be "renovated" or taken off completley. For new comers to this site.......Dansville is a lovely place with many many fullfilling people and events, please take the time to enjoy the valley :-)

I am VERY disappointed with Dansville. I am not certain how to fix the " problem" but there is definitely a problem. When we moved here 18 years ago we had a car stolen from in front of our house in broad daylight. Now within the past few days we had a 25 foot trailer stolen. The trailer was actually being stored at a storage place , but still was in the town of Dansville. What is going on here and why do we have to feel as though we live in " the city" ? People....especially PARENTS...WAKE UP and start taking control of your kids before they head down the " wrong road" so to speak. It's time to take Dansville back to the place it once was when I grew up. This used to be a very nice, friendly and safe place to live and raise a family. How do we get this back? I feel as though it is so overwhelming that you don't know where to begin. Any suggestions ? PS......Any idea about the where abouts of the trailer.....please call the Dansville Police. Thank You !!
As for the above comment TO Robin Jarvis.....please remember that everyone was a child once and with any luck, good parenting, lots of prayers, support and GOD...we all grow up ! I do NOT think she was pointing fingers. She was merely commenting that Dansville is turning into a " city like " town and took the time to care enough to make a positive comment while trying to point out all of the things that I did above about this Village !!

luck? good parenting? lots of prayers? support? and god? from just those comments i would be guessing that you are a parent that thinks you are a good one...(odviously not the case) you believe in luck and faith and all that bs... you had support from your AA meetings and or the help of some crack/heroin addiction to help you get threw the hard times in your what seems so miserable life (your car and your house got stolen, next time buy something that is not so easy mobile).... but lets not forget the last, ah yes GOD..(aka GAWD) this fictional charictor that you speek of has your back in EVERYTHING you do right? did GOD help you with the idea to make this Village any better? if so he is pointing you in the wrong direction, there is not help for this sh*t hole town, every one knows it.

There is always " help " for those that seek it. I am thinking from the way you are writing negative to and about everyone and everything, that YOU Mr. Koresh had and/or HAVE a very miserable life and possibly are jealous of the people who have decided to do something PRODUCTIVE with their lives. Check all of your post. Have you EVER had anything good to say ? I think NOT.....so maybe you should go crawl back in the whole you crawled out of and maybe you can find something to make you happy !!!! As for " thinking" I am a good parent..... Well I don't need to think it. I am told it on a regular basis. I have 4 wonderful children who are happy and successful. What more can a parent ask for ? Can you say the same for yourself ? Of course there is always room for improvement in any area of our lives for those of us that keep and open mind and are not bitter "know it alls" !! Did you take our trailer ? Because I am thinking it is the same type of person such as your self that has no FAITH in anything. PS.....TRY SMILING...oh and maybe even PRAYING......it might make YOUR world a happier place ! And no God does not have my back in everything I do.......BUT...he DOES have a plan.....for all of us.....including you ! ;-)

have you found the trailer yet?check the people close to the recent drug busts and that might be the answer. they were good at getting things that didnt belong to them.even the neighbors were a little shady.personally i love dansville. i would feel safe to leave my doors unlocked day or night.its the little bit of rif raf that have moved into the town.but to be honest i think that whatever drugs or dirtbags that brought it in are being cleaned out quite quick.drugs and stealing go hand in hand afterall.sorry for your lose though. i had a car stolen from me back when i was in my early 20s , right in front of my house. they caught the little creeps in amhurst.when that happens its very personal, and it makes you feel like you want to beat someones---.but then the philosophy kicks in what comes around goes around, and im good with that. because it always does.

You are the Dansville trash that the original poster on this thread was talking about. Judging from your posts, you are a prime example of DANSVILLE TRASH!

When something gets stolen in this town why does it always come down to the PARENTS taking control of there kids!!! Why do you assume it is a kid who stole your things lol a 25ft trailer to be exact.... And sometimes no matter how good of a parent you are your kids make bad decisions for themselves we cant be there 24/7 sometimes they get with the wrong crowd and mess up and hopefully you can be there to help them a guide them in the right direction thats being a good parent..... And not everyone needs to find god to be a good person or find there way.... And why don't you go live in "the city" before you think Dansville is like living in the city ahahaha its nothing like it times change its never going to be like when you grew up like when you let your 8 year old walk to school or to the store its not the same any place not just Dansville.......

some of the local police in this town are just as bad if not worse then most of the criminals in town. just lastnight two drunks where arguing out side of the bar. officer Faw tackeled one of the girls arguing and repeatedly punched her in the head, witch she ended up with fractures in her face. ouch, and i thought they were here to protect and serve all he had to do was restrain her because his back up was right there, put on them pritty little bracelets and taken her away, but no beating her would of been much more fun i guess. the chief of police in this town is under investigation him self for other reason's. if i was a tourist i would not come here.... oh and "JJD" if we are gonna fix this town we have to find good and honest police officers to do it, maybe you can ask your friend god to kill the bad cop's we have and replace them with good one's... to bad we have to be afraid of criminal's and the cop's in our pritty little town of dansville. o p.s. thanks for setting a good example Faw the mother of two you beat looks like she was run over by a herd of cow's. way to go super cop!

I think that my post has been misconstrued.....My point was not that there are "scumbags" or bad people in Dansville, but quite the opposite. I was trying to say that there is sooooo much that Dansville has to offer. I've lived many other places and after all the moving I still carry Dansville Pride! It is not the PEOPLE who are on this site that are bad, it is the language and content. Just think about the buisness, the money and the good people that Dansville is missing out on because of the things that may be posted on here. If you have opinions about the town or concerns that need to be addressed, then by all means, this is a wonderfull way to do it! But, remember children of all ages have access to this site and really, there are tactfull ways of getting your point accross! And just a sidenote...If it was required that you use your real name on here, i bet that more than half of the "inappropriate content" would dissappear. Dansville is a good place with good people. You have great town officials and people who care about one another as a community. That doesn't happen everywhere. Be thankfull for what you have.

Hey Robin, I just happened upon this site via google too...after looking around it appears to be overrun by very young angry people and a few very immature adults who will attack anything anyone says on here, right or wrong unless they are friends of theirs. I wouldn't waste my time...but you are right, what a sad thing to see as a representation of our wonderful little valley!
