If this story has all the facts then why is he a sex offender? did He say why he tried to kidnap the boy? Watch out, you might say Hi to a kid and then be accused of something not even close and be forced to register. I'm absolutely happy the boy got away because nobody deserves to be kidnapped. but you cannot try someone on what never happened.

The last paragraph of the article reads:

"State's Attorney Patricia Froehlich says Reynolds has admitted his plan was to get the boy alone to perform a sexual act. She plans to argue for more prison time."

WTF !!!! Time served ? a few months? Even Valk would have to agree to something a little more severe. This judicial system has lost its mind. He will try again awhen he gets out.As reported on BBC Radio 4 on 2 September 2005, the recidivism rates for released prisoners in the United States of America is 60%. So he gets out for time served when 6 out of 10 times he will strike again??!!

This guy was 31 in 1979 when Etan Patz, a 6 year old boy, disappeared in the Soho area of Manhattan. The police should check this out.
Maybe there is as connection to this attempted kidnapping....

OMFG, Ok, besides the system being a freaking joke what if this guy did kidnap this kid, then performed his scummy, perverted and gross acts. Then what if he got scared and killed the kid? But, who cares (sarcastic) about that give him time served and let him back out of jail, what is wrong with humans?

this is scary!! i not too long again saw a man trying to convince a little girl to get into his car, and because he didnt "physically" touch her, they couldnt charge him with anything!! our system is a mess! you can intimate a child and get no time- so unless you physically hurt a child you are considered no threat. and we all wonder why these dame pedophils never get caught before they kill a child!!

He's already done 23 months, which means he could be out in October? What's wrong with our justice system? He intended on sexually abusing the kid and a knife was involved. He should do a lot more time than 2 years. He'll be pushed out in society in a month so he could do it to another child. sick.

Wow, that is REALLY random. Is there some connection here that I don't know about that links a CT person to a NY crime that happened in the 70s?

National Association of Man Boy Lovers Association, or something like that. I remember from stories past on pedofils and America's Most Wanted.

They make drug users and distributors serve 5-10 years for possession - my friend is in jail for 10 1/2 years for negligent vehicular homicide...a crime he had no intent to commit and no prior history of - and they'll let this guy walk free after only 2 years????

Imagine the pent up "frustration" this guy has. You can bet I'm not letting my son out of my sight when we're going through that area.

The article also stated that there may have been more victims.

Statistically sexual preditors can't be rehabilitated.
