Jeebus! I thought I had seen the stupidest people and comments on some of the other fora, but guess what? You win!

And charlie chip is making a bunch of you look like the morons you are. If you are not laughing at/with him, you are a fool.

Also, FYI, FL used to have a mandatory helmet law (not that having a helmet helps when your head comes off at a combined speed of 120) which was replaced with what we have now. Who do you think lobbied for that? I know I love helping pay for a vegetable to take up an ICU-level bed for the rest of his/her tube-fed life due to a 20mph bike dump that should have been an abrasion.

Cars going the wrong way driven by habitual offenders are bad!

Motorcyclists (not these in this case) who I see almost everyday doing dangerous (to them and others) things are bad!

The only people who have a right to outrage are those who on a daily basis try to obey traffic laws and have clean driving records. The rest of you should go fvck yourselves.

Let's make a deal...if you can wad up your driving record and stuff it in your mouth and still talk then you can have an opinion. If not then choke on it and shut up about others while trying to improve yourself.

Have we not all seen how some of these motorcyclists drive---they swerve in and out of traffic, traveling at high speeds. I don;t know if this is part of the problem but I passed it this morning.
"SOME" being the operative word. This is the exception rather than the rule, because the majority of motorcylists are aware of the dangers. Not to mention, even other motorcyclists see those that ride recklessly as having a death wish.

Absolutely NOT so! Whether or not a biker chooses to wear a helmet or not, there is the same 50 - 50 chance of either being killed or not being killed. Get facts before you post. There are many, many dead bikers who would have been alive if they had NOT been wearing a helmet - the weight of helmet caused their neck to snap - and there are dead bikers who might have lived if they were wearing helmet. When it's your time, it doesn't matter what you're wearing. And anyone who disagrees with that is just a plain ole' DUMBASS with no common sense. I choose not to wear a helmet because a helmet restricts peripheral vision a LOT and blocks out noise that a rider needs to hear for safety! Anyone who says differently isn't being truthful and is ignoring FACTS. Put on a helmet sometime and see how it DECREASES your ability to see and hear. Let those who ride decide - join ABATE!

becuase the motorcycle should have had the brains to get out of the way! are you just not seeing this you moron?
Did you see the car drivers past ticket? No HEADLIGHTS ON. Theres a good chance he did not have his lights on this time too. Could you spot a car coming at you at 120mph with no headlights? HELLO? Did your brain call off today?

Whats wrong with this article. They are checking to see if the bikers were wearing helmets. I guess the wrong way driver is getting off free again. Welcome to the real world with the
FHP.
That is part of the investigation--on the crash report it states whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt, airbag deployed, or wearing a helmet, or eye wear. More than likely the driver of the vehicle will be charged, but FHP will have to wait on blood results

The smartest and best idea yet. Now if someone in power at the DOT would listen many lives could be saved! BRAVO!
Yeah...real smart. Here's another great idea to stop red light runners starting tomorrow. A thick steel plate that shoots upward out of the "stop line" at the instant the light turns red. Voila! No more red light running. No court dates or controversial photos to argue over. Either you were through the light before it turned or you weren't. Simple physics. Remember you heard it here first!

That's cool as long as you either escrow enough money to pay for your veg support or give someone written permission to kill you if you ever end up a veg. You can do whatever you want to yourself as long as YOU pay for it.

The weight of the helmet snapped his neck! What a hoot. That's almost as good as "he would have lived had he not been wearing seatbelts and was thrown clear of the burning vehicle." Yes, once in a very, very great while some freak thing may happen that gets told over and over, but the VAST majority of cases support the use of seatbelts (and helmets).

It's a branch of math called "probability"...look into it.

You watch too many "Final Destination" movies. Why bother to do anything to protect youself from anything then? Why not eat spoiled food? Why not play Russian roulette? Why wear clothes in the winter in the great white north? Why not step in front of a bus? It will stop for you. If not, then it was your time to go...nothing to be done.

The thing that scares me about people that think like you (if you can call it thinking) is that you also apply your lack of concern for safety to others so that if your shittty behavior causes someone else to die, you just shrug and say it was not your fault....just destiny.

no actually i dont watch too much movies but all of your rediculous examples sound more like a suicide and thats not what i was talking about but hey everyone thinks different although results are the same so w/e...also your second paragraph....dont be scared it seems to be your problem right there...and your mind took it little too far from what i was actually refering to., what you think im kamikaze lol and as for the mathematician above....so probability huh? so when a same person walked away from close calls numerous times is that probability too...sure

How dare you blame this on the motorcyclist not wearing a helmet. That is not even a factor here. The point is that some IDIOT went the wrong way on the road. Maybe if there was more focus on teaching people how to drive, there would be less motorcycle crashes and fatalities. Bikers are not the problem, they are just the targets. Unfortunaly, these days, there is so much emphasis on the numbers of motorcycle fatalities and crashes, they fail to mention the ratio of riders:crashes. If there were 100 riders with 20 crashes last year, but this year there were 200 riders with 25 crashes, the statistic we would not even hear about it. The point is that when the whole truth gets printed, there is not a story to sell the paper.
