As a employee of this restaurant. If you were over charged I'm sure if you would take your receipt and concerns to management they would get you taken care of. Unfortunately accidents do happen. Discussing it on topix will certainly not get your $11 back.

I agree with waitress. This is one of the cleanest, friendly and best seafood or fastfood if you call it that around. Keep up the good work. A+ from me!!!

Please explain why management places tax on the bill after the tip is added????? They are making money off the tip by figuring tax after adding in the tip. I watched a out of town person refuse to pay until it was corrected and the cashier insisted she could do nothing about it!!! Finally the manager came out and recalculated the bill by hand because of a long line at the register. We do not add our tip onto the ticket and advise all of our friends and family of the rip off!!!!

We had to stop going to Captains Bob because the oysters are so greasy you cannot eat them. They are so small that they cannot fry long enough to crisp!

Most states don't add tax to a voluntary gratuity but if a mandatory gratuity charge is stated in some manner ahead of time, it becomes no longer a voluntary gesture by a patron and becomes a charge on goods and services, which is taxable. Usually.

This is not a mandatory gratuity. I am just telling folks how captains gallery totals the bill. If you Sk them to add tax to bill rather than leave on table, they add it to the bill and them calculate the tax on the total!!!!!!

You're still confusing Slider. I assume you meant 'add tip' to bill instead of "add tax"? So..hmmm..I could be wrong but It ain't the first time, so...If you add the tip onto the bill and it that money goes directly to the server, it shouldn't be taxed. If the restauranteer deems that money to be part of the what they use to pay the server, it might be taxable. I prefer leaving it on the table if I have cash on hand, I want the server to know how I felt about the service.

This is not difficult. Ex: the bill is $30.00 so tax is about 9.75% or $2.93 . If you pay with a debit or credit and you want to add the tip, they take the $30.00 and add let's say a $5.00 tip. What they do is put $35.00 in the calculator/register and hit the tax button which now becomes $3.42 tax on a $30.00 bill. I assure you that the restaurant only pays taxes on monies collected and not on tips!!!! And by the way, restaurants automatically hold out about 12.5% of the waiters wages to cover taxes for IRS so when you don't tip, that poor waitress actually pays taxes on money they did not get!!!!! I know this because my son worked in a restaurant while going to college!!!

No,it isnt difficult at all. I can do the math. Hell, I have tip calculator on my phone at 15%. What a body needs to understand is tax codes. That's why I prefer to hand my 15% directly to the server.Happy 2013

I'd be asking if the Sea Food comes from the Gulf. If so I'd leave and fill up with BP fuels on the way home.
