Here's a quality topic. Can't wait and see how many snot nosed teenagers who got their cell phones taken up,
want to bad mouth their teacher. Let the cry babies begin.

J. Slaton was the best teacher ever. Thank You Mrs. Slaton for all that YOU did for us out of your own pocket. Love and God bless you.

I had some good teachers and I had teachers that I really enjoyed, but none of my teachers stood out to declare a best. The best teacher that I ever had was Dr. Ed Burdette at UT. He was head and shoulders above all the other teachers that I had in school. He could take the most complex ideas and make them easy to understand.

J.Slaton is the second worst teacher I ever had at JCHS with Mary Ellen Bishop coming in first place.

Slaton was never in the room. She played favorites. She was by far one of the easiest because people shared answers. I never wrote one paper for College Prep. Senior English.

Ms. Gann was the best teacher I had in high school. Yeah, her class was hard and I had to put A LOT of work into it, but that's where I learned the most. In her class, we didn't just learn about the comma rules and A Separate Peace, but about life. It was a great experience and I wouldn't have done so well in college English classes without the information I gained from Ms Gann.
maybe you sucked

Slaton was a great teacher! Perhaps you just didn't make the grade. This is a hard topic to pick a "fav" in. Everyone is different. Then, I liked Mrs. Slaton and Mrs. Loy and Coach Bradley. Now I couldn't say ne thing about ne of them. But Loy and Bradley seem to not like each other. What happened to Slayton? Jim was also a great teacher when I went to middle school. I loved coach Collins too but that prick Rogers was an ass hole! He made so many girls feel dirty and yuck!!!

Gann was the first worst teacher both as as a person and as a poor excuse for a "professional".

Coach Smith is the number one the best teacher and a wonderful person. He also has great leadership and organizational skills. Is he on the school board?

I made A's under her. Who didn't? I didn't LEARN anything. If it hadn't been for Nancy Love the previous year I would not have been prepared for college. My classmates loved her. It was an easy ride. Slackers loved her.

Ok so...I can say I had a few that are at the top of my list....Mrs. Sanford was my favorite of all time, she inspired me to go to school for accounting...and really opened my eyes to a lot of things. A couple of others that are close runner ups: Mr. McCampbell and(those of you know who this one will probably be in complete shock) Ms. Rosser. Yes she is a rough teacher but I had a rough year my junior year and had to retake junior english and I can honestly say she challenged me and taught me more in standard english then I had in any other english class and I had been all the way up and down the scale. Now the least favorite...Doc and Hodge. Those two don't even get me started...didn't even have anything to do with the teaching....well yes it does...I did not and do not like their teaching styles and I'm in my second year of college now and still have not dealt with anything like I did with them...not to mention the fact that they told our class within the first week we were with them that if we worked we were not committed to our studies. Well I don't know about anyone else but times were hard at my house it was every man for themselves when it came to anything we wanted or needed. When they said that and assigned mass amounts of readings and writing assignments that were impossible to complete working I lost all respect. I tried to fight my way thru it and did homework at work every day! When it came down to get fired and lose MY only money to put gas in my car and provide what I needed, enough was enough...I'm curious if anyone else that had them had any kind of the same feelings about it? Wow did not mean for this to be so long...oh well.

I agree about Hodge. She has got to be the biggest b**ch I have ever met. She has no compassion for her students. All she cares about are the rich kids and pillars of the community kids. She is a joke of a teacher. Always has an arrogant attitude and a very poor outlook on life. If I saw this as a student then there is a problem. She is no kind of rolemodel. I hope they take away tenure just for her sake.
Doc I didn't have much of a problem with, but I do think teachers should keep their political opinions to themselves and not try to indoctrinate their students with extreme political ideas. Leave the conspiracy theories and complaints at home Doc!

On another note, Rosser is a good teacher. She is hard, but you will learn.

Alot of the good teachers are gone or the school system doesn't keep them. They tend to hire the ones who "teach" by popping in DVDs. There are a few, but not many.

I say Mr. Niceley (art) was one of the best in my book. There were some other, but they are not there anymore.
