incompetance for what? the fact that they don't want kids to get hurt? sounds pretty smart to me.

Do you want your children out on these icy roads? Jerry, from the town highway has notified them of vehicles off the roads and very slippery conditions on the many roads that these buses travel on.

If they had the 90 minute delay and 1 bus (or teenage driver for the HS) had an accident, some of you would have been the 1st ones saying they were reckless and incompetent for having school.
Good call-the roads are not good.

I guess those that are flippant about this don't live on a street where a high school student died on his way to school because he had to drive on slick roads. Every day is a reminder that a young and talented student died. Postponing or cancelling school IS in the best interests of our kids.

NM is full of ice the material doesnt work in below freezing temps. Stay home or learn to drive slow in the weather. We are in New England. PW knows the rds are icy they have been working since early Wed am.

Unless you live in New Milford, you may not realize that what is rain in Wilton, is freezing rain in Danbury, and ice in New Milford. Time and again I've driven south to find the weather change between here and the lower county in a predictable way. Going down Second Hill Road in an ice storm will give anyone pause. The buses arrive before sunrise, nothing has started to melt, yet the kids should have to get to school? Being a little more north, and having sections of elevated areas in town has it's effect on the weather.
Let New Milford worry about it's own, and MYOB.
