Former town attorney accepts GOP nod

Melanie O'Brien, former town attorney, was unanimously accepted by local Republicans on Thursday as their party's candidate for the 2nd District state representative seat.

All Bartlett can do is complain that the locals aren't playing his partisan games?

Bartlett has done NO JOB! Point to Bartlett's accomplishments beside grandstanding? He is all talk. Locals nhaven't worked withy him because his whole tenure has been nothing but meddling in local politics to score points with his own party. His legislation is defective, and won't even accomplish getting money for open space as he was giving Danbury money to buy open space in BETHEL, even though the space Danbury sought was IN DANBURY! This is the genius you praise.

Finally, what has Jason Bartlett done for Redding? NOTHING! What has Jason Bartlett done for Danbury? Besides author legislation to give taxpayer money to illegal aliens to send their children to state colleges at a discount? NOTHING!

Go Melanie! Let's rid the district of this phoney once and for all!

Bartlett has done a fine job in representing the people of this district. He has faced an unusual amount of opposition from local politicians because of things that transpired before his election and are aside from his work on our behalf. He's done a good job in Hartford.

I think that allowing kids who graduate High School in CT and live in CT attend state schools at in-state tuition rates is an excellent idea. I don't care what transgressions their parents may be guilty of I will not punish the kids for it. It is money well spent.

The Terre Haute plan he engineered was a good plan that would have benefited people of Bethel, people of Danbury and people of CT.

The ferocity and nastiness of these attacks upon him by many of his critics is shameful to civilized people.

He is a good man and deserves our support for his re-election.

Buzz Saw is correct. Just because he is not a Republican it does not mean his ideas are "his own". Jason has done a great job for his district and deserves re-election.

State office holders will have to answer questions about capital punishment, medical marijuana, pension payments to corrupt government employees and more. I like the way Jason votes on issues. That's not grandstanding or "all talk", it's representing your constituents. That's his job.
