$1.7 million in Ridgefield isn't a mansion - it's just a nice house.

Let's hope Bernard Madoff is inside.

you guys are terrible, i live right down the street from these people and you really need to put your feet in their shoes for a second and realize what they are going doesnt matter the size of the home or the cost, all that matters is that that family lost their sense of security and they lost their one true place that we all call home. so stop with the nasty comments

Thoughts and prayers, you know having a little consideration for people that lost "everything" earlier today. It's called, having COMPASSION!!

At least some of the people that comment on here have it....because clearly you DO NOT!

The size of one's wallet, home or value of cars means nothing when you suffer a loss like this.
Again, my thoughts and prayers are with the Brice family as they try to "rebuild" after this loss.

many of you do not realize the troubles a fire causes i believe these people should be in our prayers and hope they can recover from the terrible loss. before you post a nasty comment think about if your best friend lost there house would you want rude and terrible people posting the things they have or would you want them to know they are loved and nobody will make this time worse. i myself have lived through a fire and i would never make someone feel worse. so please i know the family quite well and i love all of them dearly. jj is one of my best friends and i love her to death. so please think about how you would feel if you were them. stop being the greedy and lifeless people your acting like and be a friend. because who knows this could be you one day. karma isnt a pretty thing. i love the brices and send my condolences. so stop being mean! we have enough of that in the world. does this make you feel better! well if it does you should be ashamed.

You read about a fire in a nearby town known to be affluent, and your response is to head right to to see how much the home was worth?

You are a very classy individual.
i love the brices

Years ago I lost my home to a fire and I can tell you the feeling of losing everything you owned (not the tv, or the furniture)is devastating. Everything that was part of your life, pictures, keepsakes, everything that was part of who you are is gone including the 4 legged family members that didn't make it. The feeling of lose and disorientation can be unbearable. Try to remember the feeling of leaving your home for a trip and the security you feel knowing it's there when you return. Remember the warmth you feel when you are back in your home. Thats not going to happen this family for some time. We can be cynical over there prosperity, or we can reach out and care.

Really? I guess people who have enough time on their hands, no life at all, to GOOGLE what kind of cars a man owns or what his home is worth wouldn't understand how horrific something like this is!!! I work for the Brices and was there the moment they got the call, the moment they called us completely devestated when they saw their home in flames -- trust me, no dollar amount of any possession can pay for what they went through today!!! Before you pass judgement or make a remark about something you know nothing about, think about what really happened to these people - then think about what you're saying. You look and sound like an @$$****!!! Oh and one last thing... I'm sure the last thing the Brices are thinking about all the bs you people are posting below... the saddess part of all of this are the things they can't replace!
My thoughts and prayers are with the Brices during this very difficult time.

do you think its time to put on a few more Firemen? How many were out on EMS runs when this came in? Or how about the Body Shop fire a few months back accros from the FD?
